Hafnium silicate formation by ultra-violet/ozone oxidation of hafnium silicide
Thin Solid Films, 2003Abstract We report the room temperature growth of hafnium silicate by ultra-violet/ozone oxidation of hafnium silicide. Hafnium silicide was deposited by magnetron sputtering on hydrogen terminated (1 0 0) Si. The film was then exposed to UV radiation while in an O2 ambient.

Impact of oxygen vacancy on the ferroelectric properties of lanthanum-doped hafnium oxide
, 2020The discovery of ferroelectric properties in hafnium oxide has brought back the interest in the ferroelectric non-volatile memory as a possible alternative for low power consumption electronic memories.

Hafnium Oxide in Tungsten Filaments
Nature, 1925IT has been known for a long time that perfectly pure tungsten cannot be used for the manufacture of filaments for electric lamps on account of its “off-setting” structure due to recrystallisation. It has been found also that recrystallisation can be essentially influenced by suitable additions.

Passivation of copper–hafnium thin films using self-forming hafnium oxide
Surface and Coatings Technology, 2013Abstract The structural changes and electrical properties of copper hafnium (Cu(Hf)) thin films have been investigated. After annealing the Cu(Hf) film in an oxygen atmosphere, the surface of the film was capped with a self-formed HfO2 layer to diminish copper oxidation and reduce the electrical resistivity of the films.

Liquid Capacitor Based on Hafnium Oxide
Key Engineering Materials, 2019In this work, we synthesize Hafnium (IV) oxide (HfO2) ink from hafnium chloride (HfCl4) powder assisted with deionized water. The poly acrylic acid (PAA) is used as surfactant to decrease the surface tension. Conversion of HfCl4 into HfO2 was detected by Raman spectroscopy and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) characterization techniques. This

Hafnium oxoneopentoxide as a new MOCVD precursor for hafnium oxide films
Journal of Crystal Growth, 2004Abstract The reaction between hafnium tetrachloride and neopentyl alcohol in the presence of ammonia lead to hafnium oxoneopentoxide ( 1 ). 1 was characterized by FT-IR, 1 H and 13 C NMR. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction identified it as a trinuclear oxo species Hf 3 (μ 3 -O)(μ 3 -ONep)(μ-ONep) 3 (ONep) 6 .

Oxidation of Titanium, Zirconium, and Hafnium
Journal of The Electrochemical Society, 1959A metallographic study of the high-temperature oxidation of titanium, zirconium, and hafaium has showa that alterations in the rate equations relating to such processes may be associated with the establishment of oxygen diffusion gradienis in the surface layers of the metal.
