Hair histology as a tool for forensic identification of some domestic animal species
Animal hair examination at a criminal scene may provide valuable information in forensic investigations. However, local reference databases for animal hair identification are rare.

The formation of new hairs is regularly seen as a spontaneous phenomenon in the velvet of deer antlers and in the Australian bandicoot. Nevertheless, skepticism persists as to its occurrence otherwise, despite a continuing accumulation of reports of hair neogenesis in many laboratory animals, sheep, and man.

Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Follicular Unit Transplantation: Comparison of Video Microscopic vs. Combination Methods [PDF]
Background In 2004, Sharon Keene introduced a video microscope to the hair transplant field and discussed about the benefits such as ergonomics, quality assurance, and easy teaching. In 2009, our clinic set up digital video microscope systems.

The Currency of White Women\u27s Hair in a Down Economy [PDF]
This short essay is a reflection on the relationship between the economy and women’s hair. I suggest that examining women’s spending on hair care products during uncertain financial conditions provides insight into the gendered aspects of the economy. As

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Time-Dependent Scalar Fields in Modified Gravities in a Stationary Spacetime [PDF]
Most no-hair theorems involve the assumption that the scalar field is independent of time. Recently in [Phys. Rev. D90 (2014) 041501(R)] the existence of time-dependent scalar hair outside a stationary black hole in general relativity was ruled out.

This study shows that copy number variations (CNVs) can be reliably detected in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded (FFPE) solid cancer samples using ultra‐low‐pass whole‐genome sequencing, provided that key (pre)‐analytical parameters are optimized.

Background There is a time lag between hair follicle harvesting and implantation, during this time hair follicles suffer ischemic injury. We need a holding medium or a solution to minimize or neutralize ischemic injury.

Late-time evolution of a self-interacting scalar field in the spacetime of dilaton black hole [PDF]
We investigate the late-time tails of self-interacting (massive) scalar fields in the spacetime of dilaton black hole. Following the no hair theorem we examine the mechanism by which self-interacting scalar hair decay.
