Half-life and spin of 60Mn^g [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
A value of 0.28 +/- 0.02 s has been deduced for the half-life of the ground state of 60Mn, in sharp contrast to the previously adopted value of 51 +/- 6 s.

The half-life of the bone-derived hormone osteocalcin is regulated through O-glycosylation in mice, but not in humans

open access: yeseLife, 2020
Osteocalcin (OCN) is an osteoblast-derived hormone with pleiotropic physiological functions. Like many peptide hormones, OCN is subjected to post-translational modifications (PTMs) which control its activity.

mRNA structure regulates protein expression through changes in functional half-life

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America, 2019
Significance Despite widespread recognition that RNA is inherently structured, the interplay between local and global mRNA secondary structure (particularly in the coding region) and overall protein expression has not been thoroughly explored.

Persistência do herbicida imazaquin associado ao glyphosate ou paraquat em plantio direto Persistence of imazaquin associated to glyphosate or paraquat under no-tillage

open access: yesPlanta Daninha, 2010
A prática de associar herbicidas residuais no momento da dessecação tem ganhado destaque em razão da possibilidade de mitigar problemas decorrentes da resistência de plantas daninhas a herbicidas.

Short Half-Life of Des-γ-Carboxy Prothrombin Is a Superior Factor for Early Prediction of Outcomes of Hepatocellular Carcinoma Treated with Radiofrequency Ablation

open access: yesDiagnostics, 2023
Background: The role of des-γ-carboxy prothrombin (DCP) in patients undergoing radiofrequency ablation (RFA) for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) needs to be clarified. Materials and methods: 174 HCC patients that underwent RFA were enrolled. We calculated

The half-life of 76As [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Radioanalytical and Nuclear Chemistry, 2003
In the course of making high-accuracy measurements of arsenic, we found that the most recently published and compiled half-life of 76As did not agree with our data as well as the earlier accepted value. To redetermine this parameter, 76As sources were measured on four Ge gamma detector systems, and an exponential function was fitted to the decay data ...

Measurement of the half-life of 198Au in a non-metal: High-precision measurement shows no host-material dependence [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We have measured the half-life of the beta decay of 198Au to be 2.6948(9) d, with the nuclide sited in an insulating environment. Comparing this result with the half-life we measured previously with a metallic environment, we find the half-lives in both ...

Non-covalent albumin-binding ligands for extending the circulating half-life of small biotherapeutics.

open access: yesMedChemComm, 2019
Peptides and small protein scaffolds are gaining increasing interest as therapeutics. Similarly to full-length antibodies, they can bind a target with a high binding affinity and specificity while remaining small enough to diffuse into tissues.

Search for beta plus/EC double beta decay of 120Te [PDF]

open access: yesAstropart.Phys.34:643-648,2011, 2010
We present a search for beta plus/EC double beta decay of 120Te performed with the CUORICINO experiment, an array of TeO2 cryogenic bolometers. After collecting 0.0573 kg y of 120Te, we see no evidence of a signal and therefore set the following limits on the half-life: T1/2 (0nu) > 1.9 10^{21} y at 90% C.L. for the 0 neutrino mode and T1/2 (2nu) > 7.6

Conceptual Approaches to Modulating Antibody Effector Functions and Circulation Half-Life

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2019
Antibodies and Fc-fusion antibody-like proteins have become successful biologics developed for cancer treatment, passive immunity against infection, addiction, and autoimmune diseases.
