Weyl points and anomalous transport effects tuned by the Fe doping in Mn3Ge Weyl semimetal

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics
The discovery of a significantly large anomalous Hall effect in the chiral antiferromagnetic system—Mn _3 Ge—indicates that the Weyl points are widely separated in phase space and positioned near the Fermi surface.

Thermal Hall-Senftleben effect [PDF]

open access: yesPhysics of the Solid State, 2008
This paper is devoted to a prediction of new effect - the occurrence of a heat flow perpendicular both to temperature gradient and magnetic field in molecular dielectric where rotary degrees of freedom of molecules are defrozen. The method of the moments considering processes of phonon scattering on molecules with their rotary condition changing is ...

Understanding the Effect of Resistance Temperature Detector Temperature Controllers on Microstructural Alignment in Magnetic Freeze Casting

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The effect of temperature controllers that are commonly used in freeze‐casting is investigated in this work. Temperature controllers are observed to generate a voltage in the slurry. Microstructural alignment and ultimate compressive strength data show this voltage to interfere with the ability to align the microstructure using magnetic fields ...

Study of the Electronic Properties and Hall Effect of Amorphous Si1-xGex:H Thin Films

open access: yesIraqi Journal of Physics, 2009
The electronic properties and Hall effect of thin amorphous Si1-xGex:H films of thickness (350 nm) have been studied such as dc conductivity, activation energy, Hall coefficient under magnetic field (0.257 Tesla) for measuring carrier density of ...

Optimizing Post Friction Stir Welding Heat Treatment in Dissimilar Friction Stir Welded 6061/AlSi10MgMn Joints for Electrical Vehicle Battery Housing

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Microstructural evolution and hardness optimization along the cross‐section of friction stir welded AA6061/AlSi10MgMn joints, for electric vehicle battery housings, were investigated. Postweld aging between 170°C and 220°C enhances hardness uniformity within the nugget zone.

Laser Metal Deposition of Aluminum Alloys 7075 and 5083 with the Addition of Volatile Alloying Elements through Powder Blending

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates laser metal deposition of aluminum alloys EN AW‐7075 and EN AW‐5083, using powder blending to compensate zinc and magnesium evaporation. In situ alloying and ex situ alloying with ZnAl12 and AZ91 preserve near‐standard compositions and improve mechanical properties.

Design of a magnetic encoder using Hall effect

open access: yesVisión Electrónica, 2019
We present the design of a magnetic encoder to measure angular position. The proposed encoder includes two Hall sensors in quadrature in a fixed platform. In addition, and over the sensors, there are two permanent magnets in a shaft.

Quantum Hall effects

open access: yes, 2011
These lecture notes yield an introduction to quantum Hall effects both for non-relativistic electrons in conventional 2D electron gases (such as in semiconductor heterostructures) and relativistic electrons in graphene. After a brief historical overview in chapter 1, we discuss in detail the kinetic-energy quantisation of non-relativistic and the ...
