Inhibitory activity of tea polyphenol and Hanseniaspora uvarum against Botrytis cinerea infections [PDF]

open access: yesLetters in Applied Microbiology, 2010
To investigate the effect of tea polyphenol (TP) and Hanseniaspora uvarum alone or in combination against Botrytis cinerea in grapes and to evaluate the possible mechanisms involved.TP alone was effective in controlling grey mould in grape at all concentrations. TP at 0.5 and 1.0% in combination with H.

Killer toxin of Hanseniaspora uvarum

Archives of Microbiology, 1990
The yeast Hanseniaspora uvarum liberates a killer toxin lethal to sensitive strains of the species Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Secretion of this killer toxin was inhibited by tunicamycin, an inhibitor of N-glycosylation, although the mature killer protein did not show any detectable carbohydrate structures.

Isolation of Hanseniaspora uvarum (Kloeckera apiculata) in humans

Mycopathologia, 1998
Isolation of Hanseniaspora uvarum, a yeast of the ascomycetes group, whose anamorph corresponds to Kloeckera apiculata, obtained from stool and two ungual specimens from three patients, is reported. This yeast has been found in soil, water, various fruits, bivalve molluscs, crabs, prawns and fruit flies; in Spain, it has been described in the ...

Interaction between Hanseniaspora uvarum and Saccharomyces cerevisiae during alcoholic fermentation

International Journal of Food Microbiology, 2015
During wine fermentation, Saccharomyces clearly dominate over non-Saccharomyces wine yeasts, and several factors could be related to this dominance. However, the main factor causing the reduction of cultivable non-Saccharomyces populations has not yet been fully established. In the present study, various single and mixed fermentations were performed to

Hanseniaspora uvarum prolongs shelf life of strawberry via volatile production

Food Microbiology, 2017
Gray mold caused by Botrytis cinerea led to severe postharvest losses for strawberry industry. In recent years, some studies have shown that postharvest diseases of strawberry can be controlled by using bacterial, fungal and yeast strains. The yeast strain Hanseniaspora uvarum was shown as an effective antagonist against B. cinerea growth.
