Myeloablative Busulfan, Fludarabine and Melphalan Conditioning for Allogeneic Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation in Childhood Myeloid Malignancy

We report our single‐center experience of transplant outcomes with a busulfan, fludarabine and melphalan‐based conditioning regimen for children < 18 years of age. The regimen was shown to be well tolerated and effective for heavily pretreated children with high‐risk myeloid malignancies prior to allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplant.

Human papillomavirus persistence and clearance in women living with HIV: A five‐year retrospective analysis from an Italian university center

In women living with HIV, HPV clearance occurred after a mean of approximately 2 years under antiretroviral therapy. Baseline positivity for the high‐risk HPV pool was associated with delayed clearance, suggesting that HPV genotype may influence viral persistence more than immunovirological status in clinically stable patients.

TMEM106B C‐terminal fragment (CTF) aggregation represents an age‐associated, common, diffuse phenomenon emerging after midlife with a weak association with TDP‐43 or tau pathology. AMPK‐mediated prevention of vascular dysfunction with metformin: Experimental and population‐based evidence

Angiotensin II induces vascular inflammation, senescence, extracellular matrix (ECM) degradation and endothelial dysfunction, thus impairing SK+/IK+ channel function and reducing endothelial‐dependent hyperpolarisation (EDH). Metformin activates AMPK, increasing SK+/IK+ channel function and restoring vasorelaxation.
