Sophisticated use of upper limb haptic interactions during adaptive locomotion
Humans commonly engage in upper limb haptic interactions during bipedal locomotion, and the expansive use of our arms makes us unique compared to the quadrupeds we evolved from.

Enhancing the E-Commerce Experience through Haptic Feedback Interaction [PDF]
The sense of touch is important in our everyday lives and its absence makes it difficult to explore and manipulate everyday objects. Existing online shopping practice lacks the opportunity for physical evaluation, that people often use and value when ...

Dense tactile streams from across the humanoid body converge on collide in a central wiring and data bottleneck. By relocating computation closer to and then into the skin itself, near‐ and in‐sensor architectures, together with neuromorphic computing, chart a path toward perception‐native electronic skin, in which the conversion of stimulus into ...

Liquid Crystal Elastomer Actuator Matrix for Large Area Applications
A scalable approach is used to manufacture a digitally‐controllable, 2D 5 × 5 actuator matrix. The elements of the matrix are produced by direct ink writing of a liquid crystal elastomer ‘artificial muscle’ on large‐area flexible thin‐film heaters. In optimizing the low‐power actuators, multiple heater designs and substrate materials are investigated ...

Reconstruct-and-Forward Relaying for Semantic Communication
This work introduces a cooperative relaying framework termed reconstruct-and-forward (ReF), which extends conventional decode-and-forward (DF) and amplify-and-forward (AF) schemes by enabling the relay to reconstruct source information prior to ...
