Wireless haptic rendering for mobile platforms
2012 IEEE International Conference on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics (SMC), 2012Computer haptics has so far been performed on a personal computer (PC). Off the shelf haptic devices provide only PC interfaces and software drivers for control and communication. The new wave of high capable tablet PCs and high end smart phones introduced new platforms for haptic applications. The major problem was to communicate wirelessly to provide

On the passivity of mechanical integrators in haptic rendering
2017 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA), 2017We propose a novel haptic rendering scheme based on passive midpoint integrator (PMI), which is an extension of our prior non-iterative passive mechanical integrator (NPMI) to maximal coordinates for simulation of complex articulated rigid bodies and to multi-point intermittent contact with the linear complementarity problem (LCP) formulation ...

An IEC-Based Haptic Rendering Optimizer
2007A method to easily explore an optimum set of haptic rendering parameters is proposed. The haptic technology allows a user to touch 3D objects in virtual environments and is getting the attention of many researchers. Properly setting the haptic device parameters, however, is a tedious and non-intuitive task for everyone.

This paper presents a volume-based haptic rendering method for ahaptic shape modeling system based on simulated milling process. Previousproposals on point-based and ray-based haptic rendering methods cannotprovide the force feedback in a milling process. The method proposed in thispaper adopts a volumetric force model in material removal process.
