ABSTRACT An 8‐year‐old boy sustained over 200 bee stings, developing airway‐threatening facial oedema requiring intubation and ICU admission, with severe anemia (Hb 3.2 g/dL), rhabdomyolysis, intravascular haemolysis and marked hepatic injury (AST 2505 U/L), yet preserved renal function.

ABSTRACT X‐linked sideroblastic anemia (XLSA), caused by pathogenic variants in ALAS2, typically presents as microcytic anemia in males. However, heterozygous females occasionally exhibit an atypical macrocytic phenotype, often leading to diagnostic ambiguity and confusion with nutritional anemias or myelodysplastic syndromes.

Calpeptin Reduces Extracellular Vesicle Secretion and Induces Anti‐Inflammatory Effects but Upregulates HO‐1 and Alters Adiponectin Levels in Human Adipocytes

ABSTRACT Recent studies have shown that adipose tissue (AT) secretes elevated levels of extracellular vesicles (EVs) in obesity, and these EVs play roles in metabolic diseases. The inhibition of calpains has anti‐inflammatory and anti‐fibrotic effects on AT in mice and reduces EV secretion in some cell types in vitro.

Association Between Postoperative Pain and Inflammatory Biomarkers After Ovariohysterectomy in Dogs: A Pilot Study

Elective ovariohysterectomy in dogs induced significant time‐dependent changes in postoperative pain scores and systemic inflammatory/stress biomarkers. However, these biomarkers did not reliably reflect acute pain intensity, supporting multimodal pain assessment rather than biomarker‐based evaluation alone.

Audit of eclampsia identified learning for obstetric care. Improved hypertension management and prophylactic magnesium sulfate represent opportunities for prevention, while cerebral imaging and follow‐up postpartum were underused. Clinicians need to consider differential diagnosis in pregnant and postpartum women with seizures.
