Medium voltage multi-level inverters: Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulations

2012 IEEE 27th Convention of Electrical and Electronics Engineers in Israel, 2012
This paper presents low cost flexible FPGA based HIL simulator and HIL simulation results for 5, 9, and 13-level topologies of medium voltage multi-level inverters that controlled by carrier based pulse-width-modulation (PWM) algorithm. The applications of these inverters can be synchronous or induction motors.

A Testing Technique of Microgrid EMS using the Hardware-in-the Loop Simulation (HILS) System

International Journal of Energy, Information and Communications, 2014
A microgrid is composed of distributed power generation systems, distributed energy storge systems, loads as a small scale power system. Generally, the microgrid is operated by an energy management system (EMS). In this paper, a testing technique for a microgrid EMS using the hardware-in-the-loop simulation (HILS) technique is introduced.
