Optimal Control Design and Online Controller-Area-Network Bus Data Analysis for a Light Commercial Hybrid Electric Vehicle

open access: yesMathematics, 2023
In this article, a hybrid powertrain for the Volkswagen (VW) Crafter is designed using the Model-In-The-Loop (MIL) method. An enhanced Proportional-Integral (PI) control technique based on integral cost functions is developed by carrying out a time-based

Hardware-In-The-Loop Simulation (HILS) Based Design and Evaluation of an Intelligent Gantry Crane System

open access: yesInternational Journal of Automation Technology, 2007
The use of gantry crane systems for transporting payload is very common in industrial applications. However, moving the payload using the crane is not an easy task especially when strict specifications on the swing angle and on the transfer time need to be satisfied.

Driver Behavior Modeling with Subjective Risk‐Driven Inverse Reinforcement Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
A subjective risk‐driven inverse reinforcement learning framework is proposed to model driver decision‐making. It infers drivers' risk perception and risk tolerance from driving data. A learnable risk threshold is used to regulate decisions, enabling interpretable and human‐like driving behavior decisions.

EPOS – Using Robotics for RvD Simulation of On-Orbit Servicing Missions

open access: yes, 2010
Increasing complexity and costs of satellite missions promote the idea of extending the operational lifetime or improving functionalities/performance of a satellite in orbit instead of simply replacing it by a new one.
