Harmonic mode-locking of asynchronous dual-wavelength pulses in mode-locked all-fiber lasers
Optics Communications, 2020Abstract We report the observation of various harmonic mode-locking (HML) of a dual-wavelength all-fiber laser mode-locked with different repetition rates, and show the stability of the repetition rate difference. Interestingly, a state of second-order HML at both wavelengths is achieved.

Harmonic mode locking of bound solitons
Optics Letters, 2015We systematically investigate the passive harmonic mode locking (HML) of the bound states of two solitons in a fiber laser that has been mode locked by nonlinear polarization rotation (NPR). The experiment shows that the stable HML state of the bound solitons (BSs) with a fixed and discrete separation is obtained.

Critical behavior of a passively mode-locked laser: rational harmonic mode locking
Optics Letters, 2007The critical behavior of passive mode locking has been demonstrated in a figure-eight fiber laser that performs rational harmonic mode locking (RHML). On both the repetition rate and the pulse amplitude distribution, the observed pulse trains near the threshold exhibit the same regulations as the rational harmonic mode-locked ones.

AlGaInAs mode-locked lasers for ultrashort pulse harmonic mode locking
2011 13th International Conference on Transparent Optical Networks, 2011Monolithic AlInGaAs compound-cavity lasers for harmonic ML at multi-GHz frequencies have been fabricated and assessed. Optical pulses of ∶ 1 ps long at 160 GHz have been obtained. The optimal cavity and reflector design has been investigated experimentally and theoretically.

Mechanism of harmonic mode locking of the regeneratively mode-locked laser diode
2004 IEEE 19th International Semiconductor Laser Conference, 2004. Conference Digest., 2005It was found that the harmonic frequency optical injection locking of the regeneratively mode-locked laser diode occurs through the difference frequency component generation. Synchronization with up to 320-GHz input was also confirmed.

Dynamics of passive harmonic mode-locking
Nonlinear Photonics, 2007A comprehensive theoretical model of harmonic mode-locking is presented in which the nonlinear mode-coupling behavior in a waveguide array is used to achieve stable and robust passive mode-locking.

Sb4O5Cl2 for 34th-order-harmonic mode locking
Optical Materials, 2020Abstract Due to the excellent electrochemical characteristics, Sb4O5Cl2 has been potentially used in flame retardant, catalyst, and anode materials, etc. At the same time, it has broad application prospects in optics and optoelectronics because of its strong inoxidizability, high damage threshold and relatively high-photoelectric conversion ...

Harmonic mode locking of the Nd:YAG laser
IEEE Journal of Quantum Electronics, 1972We present experimental and theoretical results for N th harmonic mode locking of a Nd:YAG laser with an intracavity phase modulator operating at N = 2, 3, 4, and 5 times the fundamental c/2L frequency. The bandwidths of the resulting mode-locked spectra depend upon modulation frequency, modulation depth, and laser cavity losses in good agreement with ...

Harmonic mode locking in a sliding-frequency fiber laser
Optics Letters, 2011We demonstrate a sliding-frequency mode-locked (SFM) erbium fiber laser generating 20 ps pulses with center wavelengths rapidly sweeping across a spectral range of 50 nm. Excess optical nonlinearity in the laser cavity leads to multipulsing, with a tendency to tight pulse bunching (
