Hatchability of Fascioloides magna Eggs in Cervids

open access: yesPathogens, 2023
The giant liver fluke (Fascioloides magna) is an invasive parasite found permanently in three foci in Europe. The fluke has an indirect life cycle involving a final and an intermediate host. The currently accepted terminology determines three types of final hosts: definitive, dead-end, and aberrant hosts.

The chicken embryo and its micro environment during egg storage and early incubation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
When egg storage periods are prolonged (>7 days), hatchability and chick quality declines. The reason for this decline has been investigated, but is still not completely understood.

Influence of egg weight on fertility and hatchability of backyard poultry varieties maintained under institutional farm conditions

open access: yesIndian Journal of Animal Sciences, 2016
The study was conducted to investigate the effect of egg weight on fertility and hatchability in Vanaraja and Gramapriya chicken at a particular age. Depending on weight of eggs of Vanaraja (592) and Gramapriya (657) varieties, eggs were divided in Gr.1

Polychlorinated Biphenyls Influence on Hatchability ,

open access: yesPoultry Science, 1973
Abstract Broiler breeder hens and Leghorn hens fed a diet containing 20 and 50 p.p.m. polychlorinated biphenyls (Aroclor 1242) for one week had their hatchability (percent hatch of eggs set) reduced to 67.3 and 26.8 percent, respectively, of control hens. The hatchability of the broiler hens fed 50 p.p.m.

The effects of prestorage incubation and length of storage of broiler breeder eggs on hatchability and subsequent growth performance of progeny

open access: yesCzech Journal of Animal Science, 2006
A total of 1 200 broiler breeder eggs were collected from a commercial flock at the hen age of 37 weeks and divided into storage treatments of 5 and 15 days. Prior to storage, the eggs were further divided into pre-storage incubation (PRESI) 0 (control),

Effect of egg weight on hatchability and hatchling weight in Fayoumi, Desi and crossbred (Rhode Island Red X Fayoumi) chickens [PDF]

open access: yesVeterinary World, 2013
Aim: An experiment was conducted to determine the effect of egg weight on hatchability, embryonic deaths and hatchling weight of three rural breeds (Fayoumi, Desi and crossbred (Rhode Island Red X Fayoumi) chickens. Materials and Methods: Three different

Factors affecting ostrich egg hatchability

open access: yesPoultry Science, 1999
Ostrich eggs often have low hatchability (HATCH) rates because they do not lose sufficient weight during incubation. Because egg size, eggshell porosity and thickness (THICK), and length of preincubation egg storage are known to affect egg weight loss during incubation (EWL) and HATCH of chicken eggs, these factors were examined using ostrich eggs. The

Effect of egg weight on hatching characteristics of emu eggs

open access: yesIndian Journal of Animal Sciences, 2014
The study was carried out to investigate the effects of egg weight on hatchability traits in emu (Dromiceius novaehollandiae) eggs. Emu eggs (393) that hatched from 3 different egg weight groups (below 500 g (G 1), 501 to 600 g (G 2) and above 601 g (G 3)

Field Study on Broiler Eggs Hatchability

open access: yesPoultry Science, 2008
The aim of this research was to explore factors that are related with hatchability in the field. Data from 3 Dutch hatcheries for the years 2004, 2005, and 2006 were analyzed using a random regression model with the method of restricted maximum likelihood. In total, 24,234 batches of 724,750,444 eggs, originating from 511 breeder flocks, were included.
