Diffuse Light in Hickson Compact Groups: The Dynamically Young System HCG 44 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Compact groups are associations of a few galaxies in which the environment plays an important role in galaxy evolution. The low group velocity dispersion favors tidal interactions and mergers, which may bring stars from galaxies to the diffuse intragroup

hCG, Hyperglycosylated hCG, Pituitary hCG, Cancer hCG and Fetal hCG

open access: yesJournal of Pregnancy and Child Health, 2015
Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) is a one-of-a-kind biochemical. The amino acid sequence of the α- and s-subunits codes for six semi-independent molecules, binding two separate receptors, the lutropin (LH)/hCG hormone and the transforming growth factor-s (TGFs) autocrine receptor. The six semi-independent molecules each vary by carbohydrate structure,

Mass Mimicking Autoimmune Pancreatitis—A Report of Two Cases and Review of Literature

open access: yesJournal of Gastrointestinal and Abdominal Radiology, 2021
Autoimmune pancreatitis (AIP) consists of two clinically histologically distinct forms (type I and II) of chronic pancreatitis that are histologically different. These forms of AIP classically respond to oral steroids.

Phosphofructokinase 1 Glycosylation Regulates Cell Growth and Metabolism [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Cancer cells must satisfy the metabolic demands of rapid cell growth within a continually changing microenvironment. We demonstrated that the dynamic posttranslational modification of proteins by O-linked β-N-acetylglucosamine (O-GlcNAcylation) is a key ...

Intra-group Light in Hickson Compact Groups

open access: yes, 2005
We have analyzed the intra-group light component of 3 Hickson Compact Groups (HCG 79, HCG 88 and HCG 95) with detections in two of them: HCG 79, with $46\pm11%$ of the total $B$ band luminosity and HCG 95 with $11\pm26%$. HCG 88 had no component detected.

Robust Design by Antioptimization for Parameter Tolerant GaAs/AlOx High Contrast Grating Mirror for VCSEL Application [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
A GaAs/AlOx high contrast grating structure design which exhibits a 99.5% high reflectivity for a 425nm large bandwidth is reported. The high contrast grating (HCG) structure has been designed in order to enhance the properties of mid-infrared VCSEL ...

Immunoreactive human chorionic gonadotropin and its free ß-subunit in serum and ascites of patients with malignant tumors [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) is a clinically relevant marker of trophoblastic and nontrophoblastic malignancies. In the present studies, in addition to determining serum hCG, we investigated the presence and properties of hCG immunoreactivity in ...

Unraveling the Molecular Mechanisms of Glioma Recurrence: A Study Integrating Single‐Cell and Spatial Transcriptomics

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Glioma recurrence severely impacts patient prognosis, with current treatments showing limited efficacy. Traditional methods struggle to analyze recurrence mechanisms due to challenges in assessing tumor heterogeneity, spatial dynamics, and gene networks.
