A case report of high-grade astroblastoma in a young adult

open access: yesCNS Oncology, 2019
Astroblastoma is an uncommon neuroepithelial primary tumor of the brain which is of uncertain origin. We present a case of high-grade astroblastoma in an 18-year-old female with a severe headache, loss of appetite, vomiting and generalized weakness.

Extended Thermal X-ray Emission from the Spiral-Dominant Group of Galaxies HCG 57

open access: yes, 2002
We observed a group of galaxies, HCG 57, with ASCA. Regardless that their member galaxies are dominated by spiral galaxies, we detected extended thermal X-ray emission that is attributed to hot gas with a temperature of $1.04\pm0.10$ keV.

Kinematics and morphology of ionized gas in Hickson Compact Group 18 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
We present new observations of $H\alpha $ emission in the Hickson Compact Group 18 (HCG 18) obtained with a scanning Fabry-Perot interferometer. The velocity field does not show motions of individual group members but, instead, a complex common velocity ...

Fosl2 Regulates FSH‐Dependent Follicle Maturation Through Feedback Amplification of FSH/FSHR Signaling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies a FOSL2‐driven positive feedback loop that amplifies FSH/FSHR signaling. During FSH‐dependent follicle maturation, FSH induces Fosl2 expression via the cAMP‐PKA‐CREB cascade. FOSL2 in turn binds the promoters of Fshr and estrogen‐biosynthesis genes to enhance their transcription, thereby increasing Fshr mRNA level and amplifying ...

Some Like It Hot: Linking Diffuse X-ray Luminosity, Baryonic Mass, and Star Formation Rate in Compact Groups of Galaxies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We present an analysis of the diffuse X-ray emission in 19 compact groups of galaxies (CGs) observed with Chandra. The hottest, most X-ray luminous CGs agree well with the galaxy cluster X-ray scaling relations in $L_X-T$ and $L_X-\sigma$, even in CGs ...

Natural Resistance to Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome in Estrildid Finches Reveals Macrophage GPR183 as a Potential Therapeutic Target

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Ovarian macrophage depletion reverses OHSS resistance in estrildid finches and exacerbates OHSS symptoms in rats. Activating macrophage GPR183 alleviates OHSS by reducing pro‐inflammatory factors, increasing immunomodulatory molecules, remodeling CD44/SDC4‐mediated communication, and restoring immune homeostasis.
