NICMOS observations of the HDF [PDF]
This paper presents initial results and performance levels from the Near Infrared Camera and Multi-Object Spectrometer (NICMOS) observations of the Hubble Deep Field (HDF). These observations represent the deepest view of individual objects yet obtained with photometric colors of some objects indicating redshift values greater than 6.

Reliable Identification of Compton-thick Quasars at z ≈ 2: Spitzer Mid-Infrared Spectroscopy of HDF-oMD49 [PDF]
Many models that seek to explain the origin of the unresolved X-ray background predict that Compton-thick active galactic nuclei (AGNs) are ubiquitous at high redshift. However, few distant Compton-thick AGNs have been reliably identified to date.

This study evaluated biochars from co‐pyrolysis of sewage sludge and cashew residues on physical quality of a degraded loamy sand soil. SPB applied at 20 Mg ha−1 reduced bulk density by 7.74%, whereas most porosity attributes were driven by soil reconsolidation rather than biochar. Aggregate stability varied with biochar type, with SPB promoting larger

Albumin losses during hemodiafiltration: all dialyzers are not created equal - a case report
Background Online hemodiafiltration (OL-HDF) is associated with better removal of both small and middle molecules and might improve survival compared to conventional hemodialysis (HD).

Discovery of the galaxy counterpart of HDF 850.1, the brightest submillimetre source in the Hubble Deep Field [PDF]
Despite extensive observational efforts, a convincing optical/infrared identification of the brightest submm source in the Hubble Deep Field, HDF 850.1, has remained elusive after almost four years.

ABSTRACT Psychological stress (or simply “stress”) is a major contributor to chronic disease worldwide, affecting 35% of the global population, including younger generations. Furthermore, it plays a significant role in human premature aging; hence, its detrimental effects on people's health compel us to comprehend and control the ways in which ...

Despite the lack of evidence that suggests hemodiafiltration (HDF) offers a better survival outcome than standard hemodialysis (HD), the number of patients initiating HDF in Japan continues to rise.

Photometric redshifts with the Multilayer Perceptron Neural Network: Application to the HDF-S and SDSS [PDF]
We present a technique for the estimation of photometric redshifts based on feed-forward neural networks. The Multilayer Perceptron (MLP) Artificial Neural Network is used to predict photometric redshifts in the HDF-S from an ultra deep multicolor ...

This Perspective discusses the potential of stimuli‐responsive liquid crystal polymer bio‐interfaces in modulating cell behavior as next generation dynamic artificial scaffolds. Unlike current artificial biomaterials that have static properties, LCPs offer fast, reversible, and spatially programmable deformation that reflects the dynamic properties of ...
