ABSTRACT This study explored fasting‐induced physiological remodeling effects on meat quality in aged laying hens. Fasting for 15 days (F15) significantly reduced abdominal fat, intermuscular fat width, subcutaneous fat thickness, and liver index versus pre‐fasting (F0) (p < 0.05), which recovered post‐refeeding.

Relation between the High Density Phase and the Very-High Density Phase of Amorphous Solid Water
It has been suggested that high-density amorphous (HDA) ice is a structurally arrested form of high-density liquid (HDL) water, while low-density amorphous (LDA) ice is a structurally arrested form of low-density liquid (LDL) water.

The study by Liu et al in this issue of the Journal of Lipid Research leverages data from the UK Biobank to explore the impact of HDL-TG on atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease risk. The investigators observed that elevated serum triglyceride levels were associated with reduced HDL particle diameter and with increased HDL-TG.

Autologous Palmaris Longus Tendon Augmentation for Large to Massive Rotator Cuff Tears
Abstract This technical note describes an arthroscopic technique that utilizes the autologous palmaris longus (PL) tendon to augment large to massive rotator cuff tears when complete repair is not feasible. The PL tendon is harvested through a minimal wrist incision and delivered intramuscularly into the supraspinatus and/or infraspinatus using a ...

5‐Methylcytosine Analysis of miRNAs in Minimal Change Disease
ABSTRACT Minimal change disease (MCD) is a glomerular disorder, which is the most common cause of nephrotic syndrome in children. Additionally, the prevalence of MCD in adults has been increasing in recent years. During protein synthesis, noncoding RNAs can be regulated through a variety of modifications, which helps preserve biological diversity and ...
