Determination of the dimensions of the heat-affected zone in welding gas pipeline components [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Analytical decisions supported by experimental data were used to determine the dependences for calculating the size of the heat-affected zone (HAZ) in multilayer welding of circumferential joints in transmission gas pipelines.

Interaction between Molten Al‐Killed Mn–B Steel and Carbon‐Bonded MgO Refractories Based on Recyclates

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
High‐temperature interactions between low‐sulfur Al‐killed Mn–B steel and MgO–C refractories (0 and 50 wt% recyclates) are studied via finger immersion tests (1600 °C). Surface‐active elements influence infiltration. MgO/CaS layer forms, along with spinel and calcium silicate.

Fabrication of Multifunctional FeSi Gyroid Lattice Composites via Additive Manufacturing and Polymer Infiltration

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A two‐step approach combining laser powder bed fusion of FeSi electrical steel with Bakelite infiltration enables the fabrication of multifunctional gyroid lattice composites. The resulting structures exhibit high strength, magnetic anisotropy, and complete polymer infiltration, demonstrating a simple and scalable route toward lightweight, mechanically

Weld Heat-Affected Zone Subjected to Multi-Thermal Cycles and Properties of Multi-Quenched Steel Similar to Heat-Affected Zone

open access: yesJournal of the Japan Welding Society, 1965
A atudy is made on structural features and mechanical properties, especially on notch toughness of duplicated weld heat-affected zone and multi-quenched steel similar to refined weld heat-affected zone for Si-Mn and Si-Mn-Cr-V steels by induction heating and tempering in furnace, based on the results of notch toughness surveys of welded joint for ...

NUMERICAL MODELING OF HEAT-AFFECTED ZONE IN GMAW PROCESS

open access: yes, 2020
ABSTRACT: Low-carbon steel St37-2 is widely used in the bus production industry. The gas metal arc welding (GMAW) is strongly applied to join steel components due to its ease and low cost. Heat-affected zone (HAZ) is the area between the weld and base metal where can have the lowest toughness in a welding joint and hence it has always been a matter of ...

Time-evolution of Heat Affected Zone (HAZ) of Friction Stir Welds of AA7075-T651 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Friction Stir Welding (FSW) is a novel solid-phase welding process, which has proved to have a great potential for the realization of welded joints in materials with poor weldability such as heat-treatable aluminum alloys.
