Variations of heat transfer mechanism and flow structure in a heat exchanger tube fitted with 30° inclined ring

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2020
Flow prediction, heat transfer pattern, and thermo-hydraulic efficiency in a heat exchanger tube fitted with vortex generator are chosen for the present research. The 30° inclined ring is opted to develop the performance of the heat exchanger tube.

Analysis of Heat Exchange Performance of Heat Exchange Tubes of Evaporative Heat Exchanger Based on Fluent [PDF]

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science, 2020
AbstractIn order to study the influence of the heat exchange tubes length of the evaporative heat exchanger on the heat exchange performance of the organic Rankine cycle technology (ORC) in automobile exhaust heat recovery, four kinds of three-layer tube heat exchange tube models with the length of 500mm, 800mm, 1100mm and 1400mm are designed by DM ...

On‐treatment dynamics of circulating extracellular vesicles in the first‐line setting of patients with advanced non‐small cell lung cancer: the LEXOVE prospective study

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The LEXOVE prospective study evaluated plasma cell‐free extracellular vesicle (cfEV) dynamics using Bradford assay and dynamic light scattering in metastatic non‐small cell lung cancer patients undergoing first‐line treatments, correlating a ∆cfEV < 20% with improved median progression‐free survival in responders versus non‐responders.

A Novel Temperature vs Pessure drop Grid Diagram for Energy Saving in Heat Exchanger Network Retrofit

open access: yesChemical Engineering Transactions, 2022
Pressure drop in the heat exchanger is a key issue that should be considered in the HEN retrofit, as increasing the pressure of fluid can cost a substantial amount of energy. To accurately estimate the cost-related trade-off factors, the relative cost of

Cellular liquid biopsy provides unique chances for disease monitoring, preclinical model generation and therapy adjustment in rare salivary gland cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We quantified and cultured circulating tumor cells (CTCs) of 62 patients with various cancer types and generated CTC‐derived tumoroid models from two salivary gland cancer patients. Cellular liquid biopsy‐derived information enabled molecular genetic assessment of systemic disease heterogeneity and functional testing for therapy selection in both ...

Peripheral blood proteome biomarkers distinguish immunosuppressive features of cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Immune status significantly influences cancer progression. This study used plasma proteomics to analyze benign 67NR and malignant 4T1 breast tumor models at early and late tumor stages. Immune‐related proteins–osteopontin (Spp1), lactotransferrin (Ltf), calreticulin (Calr) and peroxiredoxin 2 (Prdx2)–were associated with systemic myeloid‐derived ...

Investigation of Heat Transfer Rates on Shell and Tube Heat Exchanger by Numerical Modelling via CFD Analysis [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
A shell and tube heat exchanger design with respect to the total heat transfer rate and temperature profile has been invstigated by numerical modelling. The HE comprises of a single tube and has been resolved by the two equation models namely, the k epsilon and k omega. The low RMS residual levels calculated showed that the convergence is better in the

Targeting PRAME directly or via EZH2 inhibition overcomes retinoid resistance and represents a novel therapy for keratinocyte carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The study evaluated the function and therapeutic implications of PRAME in basal cell carcinoma (BCC) and squamous cell carcinoma (SCC). The findings demonstrate that PRAME impairs keratinocyte differentiation pathways. Furthermore, PRAME impairs anticancer response to retinoid compounds in BCC and SCC cells.

Low temperature thermal resistance for a new design of silver sinter heat exchanger [PDF]

open access: yesJ. Phys.: Conf. Ser. 150, 012037 (2009)., 2008
We have developed a novel procedure for constructing high surface area silver sinter heat exchangers. Our recipe incorporates nylon fibers having a diameter of ~ 50 microns and thin wires of bulk silver in the heat exchanger. In order to increase the thermal conductance of liquid helium within the heat exchanger, prior to sintering, the nylon fibers ...
