Numerical Modeling of Photothermal Self‐Excited Composite Oscillators

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
We present a numerical framework for simulating photothermal self‐excited oscillations. The driving mechanism is elucidated by highlighting the roles of inertia and overshoot, as well as the phase lag between the thermal moment and the oscillation angle, which together construct the feedback loop between the system state and the environmental stimulus.

3D Numerical Geometric Optimization of Plate Fin Heat Sinks in Natural Convection Heat Transfer

open access: yesZhileng xuebao, 2013
Horizontal-base and vertical-base heat sinks are simulated and optimized geometrically in order to improve performance of heat sink in natural convection heat transfer with software ICEPAK. At first, the numerical model is validated through comparison of

Targeting UXS1‐Dependent Glucuronate Detoxification Potentiates Metformin's Anti‐Tumor Efficacy in Lung Adenocarcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals that metformin promotes glucuronic acid metabolism in lung adenocarcinoma by activating UGDH S476 phosphorylation and enhancing the conversion of UDPG to UDPGA based on metabolomics analysis. Through compound virtual screening, it is found that plantainoside targeting UGDH downstream UXS1 leads to UDPGA toxicity accumulation ...

Understanding and Overcoming Antibody‐Drug Conjugate Resistance: Biological Mechanisms and Emerging Analytical Frameworks in Breast Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Antibody–drug conjugates (ADCs) transform breast cancer therapy, yet resistance limits their durability. Emerging evidence reveals that ADC failure is not solely tumor‐intrinsic but shaped by dynamic tumor–microenvironment interactions that alter drug delivery, processing, and response.

From Pores to Pavement: Advanced Modeling of Aluminosilicates for Scalable Carbon Capture in Concrete

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents a transferable modeling framework for carbon capture using aluminosilicates, integrating Universal Isotherm Modeling with experimental data. It reveals how ultramicropores, alumina content, and amine functionalization influence CO2 adsorption energetics.

El Niño and the delayed action oscillator [PDF]

open access: yes
We study the dynamics of the El Niño phenomenon using the mathematical model of delayedaction oscillator (DAO). Topics such as the influence of the annual cycle, global warming, stochastic influences due to weather conditions and even off-equatorial heat-

HEAT EXCHANGER DESIGN METHODOLOGY FOR ELECTRONIC HEAT SINKS

open access: yesFrontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, 2006
This paper discusses the “inlet temperature difference” (ITD) based heat-exchanger (and its variants) design methodology frequently used by designers of electronic heat sinks. This is at variance with the accepted methodology recommended in standard heat-exchanger textbooks—the “log-mean temperature difference,” or the equivalent ε-NTU design method ...

Disorder‐Induced Extremely Low Thermal Conductivity of Graphite Fluoride

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This article investigates the effect of fluorination on the thermal conductivity of graphite fluoride, demonstrating the relationship between structural modification and thermal conductivity in an extreme case. The record‐low through‐plane thermal conductivity measured in exfoliated graphite fluoride flakes was found to correlate with the wide ...
