A Novel Approach of Virotherapy Based Hsf-1 Shrna in Cancer Eradication [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Cancer is the second leading cause of death worldwide with continues rise mortality rate. Current cancer treatment modalities are still ineffective and associated with many side effects leading to robust research to find new specific target therapy. Heat

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Microstructure and mechanical properties of a recycled aluminum alloy fabricated by consolidation of small pieces

open access: yesHeat Treatment and Surface Engineering
The microstructure and mechanical properties of recycled AA6063 aluminum alloy rods fabricated by hot extrusion of forging compacts formed by upsetting compacts of small AA6063 aluminum alloy pieces with different Fe contents before and after T6 heat ...

Quantitative proteomic analysis reveals different characteristics of bladder cancer cells after exposure to bisphenol A

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Bisphenol A (BPA), a common chemical in plastics, exerts dual effects on bladder cancer cells: low doses promote growth and migration, while high doses suppress growth and migration. Multi‐omics and bioinformatics reveal BPA acts via MAPK and inflammatory pathways.

Surface shot peening of cast SiCw/Al composites

open access: yesHeat Treatment and Surface Engineering
The surface shot peening treatment was carried out on the as-cast SiCw/Al composites, and the distribution of the residual stresses in the surface matrix was measured, the X-ray diffraction method for the yield strength of the surface matrix of the ...

YlmG1 is localized exclusively to the chloroplast envelope membrane and is involved in preprotein translocation in Arabidopsis thaliana

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Cytosolically synthesized chloroplast preproteins are translocated across the outer and inner envelope membranes through translocons called TOC and TIC, respectively. In green algae and plants, the TIC core is composed of essential membrane proteins, Tic12, Tic20, and Tic214.

Preparation of bioactive surface via gel oxidation on titanium for biomedical application (hip joint replacement) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Titanium and its alloys are widely used as implant in biomedical applications. They have good mechanical and chemical properties, biocompatibility and biointegration with human body, but they have no ability to bond directly to natural bone. Therefore,

Proteasomal degradation of intracellularly expressed Amblyomin‐X limits suicide gene therapy potential in melanoma cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This study explores the feasibility of expressing the antitumoral protein Amblyomin‐X through a suicide gene therapy approach and investigates its intracellular fate after gene delivery. Although the gene is efficiently expressed, melanoma cells rapidly degrade the Amblyomin‐X protein via proteasome activity.

Creep behavior of composite cylinders: effects of thermal gradients, reinforcement, and residual stress

open access: yesHeat Treatment and Surface Engineering
This study presents a detailed numerical investigation of creep-induced stress and strain distributions in particle-reinforced composite cylinders under combined internal pressure, thermal gradients, and residual stress using an explicit finite ...

Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.
