Quantum Spin Nematic States in Bose-Einstein Condensates
We review some recent results on discrete symmetries and topological order in spinor Bose-Einstein condensates (BECs) of $^{23}Na$. For spin one bosons with two-body scatterings dominated by a total spin equal to two channel, the BECs are in quantum spin

SDPR–STK38 axis controls the proliferation–differentiation balance in alveolar type II cells
The present study identifies SDPR as a pivotal regulator orchestrating the balance between proliferation and differentiation in alveolar type II (AT2) cells. In SDPR+/+ cells, SDPR binds to and inhibits STK38 activity, thereby sustaining GSK‐3β signaling functionality to promote cyclin D1 degradation and maintain cell cycle homeostasis.

Background European hedgehogs (Erinaceus europaeus) are hosts for Ixodes hexagonus and I. ricinus ticks, which are vectors for zoonotic microorganisms. In addition, hedgehogs may carry several enteric zoonoses as well.

An investigation into the techniques for detecting hedgehogs in a rural landscape [PDF]
Various techniques and devices have been developed for the purpose of detecting wildlife but many only provide optimum results in particular habitats, for certain species or under ideal weather conditions.

Particles and strings in a (2+1)-D integrable quantum model
We give a review of some recent work on generalization of the Bethe ansatz in the case of $2+1$-dimensional models of quantum field theory. As such a model, we consider one associated with the tetrahedron equation, i.e.

Directed differentiation of pluripotent stem cells into functional pancreatic β cells have emerged as a promising strategy for the radical treatment of type 1 diabetes, with preclinical and early clinical evidence demonstrating reversal of hyperglycemia and insulin independence.

Legal theory and epistemic values: against authoritarian interpretivism [PDF]
In his new book, R. Dworkin advocates the unity of values thesis. He wants to circumscribe morality as a proper epistemological domain which is methodologically different from scientific inquiry.

Objective Cerebral ischemic stroke causes neuronal oxygen/energy deprivation, disrupting mitochondrial function including reduced membrane potential and bioenergetics, exacerbating neuronal injury. Mitochondrial defects are, therefore, a central neuropathological node and potential therapeutic target.

Hedgehogs can act as reservoirs for the transmission of tick-borne pathogens (TBPs) to domestic livestock, wild animals, and humans. Understanding host–tick dynamics is essential to evaluate the impact of TBPs.
