Transcriptome‐wide analysis of circRNA and RBP profiles and their molecular relevance for GBM
CircRNAs are differentially expressed in glioblastoma primary tumors and might serve as therapeutic targets and diagnostic markers. The investigation of circRNA and RNA‐binding proteins (RBPs) interactions shows that distinct RBPs play a role in circRNA biogenesis and function.

Recent progress in apoptosis triggering facilitated by HeLa Studies
Objective: Cancer is a leading cause of death globally, prompting numerous efforts to find effective treatments. HeLa cells, derived from Henrietta Lacks’ cancerous squamous cells, have played a crucial role in cancer research due to their origin ...

Ubiquitination of transcription factors in cancer: unveiling therapeutic potential
In cancer, dysregulated ubiquitination of transcription factors contributes to the uncontrolled growth and survival characteristics of tumors. Tumor suppressors are degraded by aberrant ubiquitination, or oncogenic transcription factors gain stability through ubiquitination, thereby promoting tumorigenesis.

Induction of apoptosis in HeLa cells by trans-activation-deficient p53.
The p53 tumor suppressor protein is a transcriptional activator, which can mediate apoptotic cell death in a variety of cell types. To determine whether sequence-specific trans-activation is a prerequisite for the induction of apoptosis by p53, the ...

Determination of ADP/ATP translocase isoform ratios in malignancy and cellular senescence
The individual functions of three isoforms exchanging ADP and ATP (ADP/ATP translocases; ANTs) on the mitochondrial membrane remain unclear. We developed a method for quantitatively differentiating highly similar human ANT1, ANT2, and ANT3 using parallel reaction monitoring. This method allowed us to assess changes in translocase levels during cellular

Raphin‐1 reduces the survival of PED‐DHGG cells and enhances their radiation sensitivity through both PeIF2α‐dependent and PeIF2α‐independent mechanisms. Raphin‐1 sustains elevated levels of PeIF2α, contributing to its PeIF2α‐dependent effects. Additionally, raphin‐1 interacts with CReP to mediate a separate radiosensitizing pathway that operates ...

Cytosolic lipid droplets (LDs) store excess fatty acids (FAs) in the form of neutral lipids and prevent starvation-induced cancer cell death. Here we studied the ability of mono- and polyunsaturated FAs to affect LD formation and survival in Hela ...
