Helium resources accumulation regulations and their development prospects in China

open access: yesJournal of Natural Gas Geoscience
Helium is a globally scarce strategic resource that is relevant to national economies and the development of high-tech industries, and China primarily depends on imported helium for its industrial applications.

Lewis Pair‐Engineered CuMnOx as Cold‐Adapted Multinanozyme for Cooperative Hydrolytic and Oxidative Degradation of Raw Corn Stalk

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A Lewis pair site design strategy was established to construct Cu‐doped Mn‐based amorphous nanozymes, where Mn and oxygen vacancies generate cooperative acid‐base pairs. The resulting multinanozyme integrates glycosidase‐, oxidase‐, and cold‐adapted enzyme‐mimicking activities, enabling cooperative depolymerization of cellulose and hemicellulose ...

Molecular simulation of adsorption and diffusion behaviors of high-concentration helium in salt cavern storage reservoirs

open access: yesMeitian dizhi yu kantan
BackgroundArtificial salt cavern underground helium storage is the optimal approach for achieving long-term, large-scale strategic helium storage and represents an essential solution for establishing an autonomous, controllable helium supply system.

Engineering New‐to‐Nature Biological Pathways for β,γ‐Alkanediol Synthesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
β,γ‐Alkanediols are value‐added chemicals to be used as functional solvents, biofuels, and cosmetic components. This work demonstrates a carboligation‐mediated approach for synthesis of linear chain β,γ‐alkanediols in Escherichia coli, namely, hexane‐2,3‐diol (2,3‐HDO) and pentane‐2,3‐diol (2,3‐PDO). The engineered E. coli cells produce 152.2 mm (17.98

Re‐evaluation of argon (E 938) and helium (E 939) as food additives

open access: yesEFSA Journal
The Panel on Food Additives and Flavourings (FAF) provides a scientific opinion re‐evaluating the safety of the two food additives argon (E 938) and helium (E 939). Argon (Ar) and helium (He) are two noble gases, highly stable single atoms.

A new genesis method-based methodology for helium resource evaluation: Application to the Jinzhong Basin and its geological implications

open access: yesMeitian dizhi yu kantan
BackgroundHelium, a strategic resource in short supply, primarily occurs in natural gas. In China, helium resource assessment remains in its nascent stage, and limited helium exploration and exploitation have been conducted in general.

A Metal‐Free Carbon Monoxide Prodrug Suppresses Metastasis of Pancreatic and Breast Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A metal‐free carbon monoxide (CO) prodrug, CO‐116, delivers controlled systemic CO without inhalation. CO suppresses the HRG1–heme axis, reducing intracellular heme availability. Attenuation of this pathway inhibits metastatic progression in pancreatic and triple‐negative breast cancer models.

Atomic Tuning of Metal‐Support Interactions for Pathway‐Selective CO2 Photoreduction on TiO2

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Single‐atom Fe and Cu catalysts anchored on TiO2 steer photocatalytic CO2 reduction toward distinct pathways. Fe sites favor rapid *CO desorption and selective CO formation, whereas Cu sites stabilize *CHO intermediates, enabling deep reduction and C─C coupling. Combined spectroscopy and DFT calculations reveal how metal–support interactions and oxygen
