Abstract Presented here are the results of archaeoparasitological analysis of habitation layers at Shag River Mouth, Otago coast. Two types of helminth eggs were identified: The first type is Toxocara canis, associated with the introduced kurī dog (Canis familiaris), which could have adversely affected local people and their dogs.

Necropsies of 60 goats were performed over a year to identify parasites in the abdominal cavity, the liver, and the digestive tube. Overall, 10 nematodes, 4 cestodes, and 2 trematodes were identified.

Meat safety knowledge, attitude and practices of slaughterhouse workers in Kajiado, Kenya
Slaughterhouse workers (n = 78) were interviewed to determine their knowledge, attitude and practices in slaughter hygiene and meat safety. Moderate‐to‐low knowledge in carcass contamination, meat‐borne illnesses, temperature interventions and poor practice in carcass washing and medical testing resulted in high worker morbidity.
