Serum Hemagglutination Inhibition Activity Correlates with Protection from Gastroenteritis in Persons Infected with Norwalk Virus

open access: yesClinical and Vaccine Immunology, 2011
A hemagglutination inhibition (HAI) assay to assess serum antibody responses following Norwalk virus (NV) infection was developed. HAI activity increased significantly in individuals experimentally infected with NV (n = 18) and correlated with antibody ...

Mapping Satellite Glial Cell Heterogeneity Reveals Distinct Spatial Organization and Implies Functional Diversity in the Dorsal Root Ganglion

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Four distinct satellite glial cell subtypes are identified in mouse dorsal root ganglia using single‐cell RNA sequencing and spatial validation. These subtypes show unique marker profiles and anatomical distributions. Human dorsal root ganglia display layered perisomatic organization with differential marker expression.

Hemagglutination with Crane Herpesvirus.

open access: yesJournal of Veterinary Medical Science, 1998
A crane herpesvirus (CrHV) grown in chicken embryo fibroblast (CEF) cells was tested for hemagglutination (HA) with erythrocytes from a variety of species at 4 degrees C, room temperature and 37 degrees C. HA was observed at all temperatures with erythrocytes from mouse, ddY and BALB/c strains, but not with those from cattle, sheep and chicken.

Hemagglutination by simian rotavirus [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Microbiology, 1978
A simian rotavirus (SA-11) was shown to hemagglutinate human group "O" and guinea pig erythrocytes. The hemagglutinin appeared to be associated with the outer capsid of the SA-11 virus and was inhibited by specific hyperimmune anti-SA-11 guinea pig serum.
