Fungal Cellulase and Hemicellulase Prediction of Forage Digestibility

open access: yesJournal of Dairy Science, 1975
An enzymatic procedure using Trichoderma viride carbohydrases, a fungal hemicellulase, and pepsin was developed to provide a laboratory method for predicting forage digestibility. The amount of forage dry matter solubilized by enzymes and incubation buffer was less than that in vivo or by in vitro fermentation by rumen microorganisms.

Progress and Prospects of Sustainable Textile Processing Through Immobilized Enzyme Systems

open access: yesChemistrySelect, Volume 11, Issue 16, 27 April 2026.
The review presents recent advances in the use of immobilized enzymes for sustainable textile processing, detailing mechanisms that enhance stability, activity, and recyclability. It surveys applications in desizing, scouring, bleaching, bio‑polishing, and surface modification and examines their role in circular production.

Cellulase hyper-production by Trichoderma reesei mutant SEU-7 on lactose

open access: yesBiotechnology for Biofuels, 2017
Background The induction of cellulase production by insoluble carbon source cellulose was a common and efficient strategy, but has some drawbacks, such as difficult fermentation operation, substantial cellulase loss, long fermentation time, and high ...

Shotgun proteomics of Aspergillus niger microsomes upon D-xylose induction [PDF]

open access: yes
Protein secretion plays an eminent role in cell maintenance and adaptation to the extracellular environment of microorganisms. Although protein secretion is an extremely efficient process in filamentous fungi, the mechanisms underlying protein secretion ...

Multi‐Organ Approaches to Cultivated Meat Biomanufacturing: Conceptual Applications of Ruminal Fermentation and Co‐Cultures

open access: yesJournal of Food Science, Volume 91, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Current academic research and industrial processes for cultivated meat production primarily utilize cultures of single cell types (monocultures) that do not capture the complexity of the in vivo environment of muscle and fatty tissues in the body.

Analysis of a conserved cellulase transcriptional regulator reveals inducer-independent production of cellulolytic enzymes in Neurospora crassa. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Cellulose is recalcitrant to deconstruction to glucose for use in fermentation strategies for biofuels and chemicals derived from lignocellulose. In Neurospora crassa, the transcriptional regulator, CLR-2, is required for cellulolytic gene expression and

Tetraopes Milkweed Beetle Genomes Elucidate the Adaptive Basis of a Temperate Coevolutionary Radiation

open access: yesMolecular Ecology Resources, Volume 26, Issue 3, April 2026.
ABSTRACT The coevolutionary radiation of 27 species of Tetraopes longhorned beetles and their Asclepias milkweed hosts represents a classic example of adaptive evolution driven by plant chemical defences and herbivore counteradaptations. Investigations to date, however, have focused on a single species, Tetraopes tetrophthalmus, which feeds on the ...

Combining manipulation of transcription factors and overexpression of the target genes to enhance lignocellulolytic enzyme production in Penicillium oxalicum

open access: yesBiotechnology for Biofuels, 2017
Background Lignocellulolytic enzymes are the main enzymes to saccharify lignocellulose from renewable plant biomass in the bio-based economy. The production of these enzymes is transcriptionally regulated by multiple transcription factors.

The nutritive value of poultry diets containing sunflower meal supplemented by enzymes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The international limitations imposed on the utilization of meat and bone meals in animal diets, together with the increasing demand for soybean meal, create a necessity to search for other protein sources to economically balance compound feeds.

Monitoring the fibrolytic potential of microbial ecosystems from domestic and wild ruminants browsing tanniferous forages

open access: yesAnimal Nutrition, 2016
Although the rumen microbiome has been reported to synthesize a rich source of symbiotic enzymes (exocellulase, endocellulase, hemicellulase and cellobiase), the digestion of tropical C4 grasses and browses by ruminants is still limited.
