Deciphering the soybean root rot pathogen Phytophthora sojae: Signaling pathways, transcriptional regulation, and effector biology

open access: yesNew Plant Protection, EarlyView.
This review highlights how Phytophthora sojae utilizes unconventional lineage‐specific signaling networks, including unique G protein‐coupled receptor fusions, expanded kinases, and rapidly evolving effectors, to infect soybeans. Understanding these divergent molecular paradigms reveals critical vulnerabilities in this destructive pathogen, offering ...

Thermomyces lanuginosus: properties of strains and their hemicellulases [PDF]

open access: yesFEMS Microbiology Reviews, 2003
The non-cellulolytic Thermomyces lanuginosus is a widespread and frequently isolated thermophilic fungus. Several strains of this fungus have been reported to produce high levels of cellulase-free beta-xylanase both in shake-flask and bioreactor cultivations but intraspecies variability in terms of beta-xylanase production is apparent.

Deciphering Role of Endophytes in Plant Defences and Biotic Stress Resilience Across Families

open access: yesPlant, Cell &Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Plant families generate distinct repertoires of specialised metabolites that govern their biotic interactions. Endophytes strengthen host plant defence mechanisms and tolerance to biotic challenges by upregulating metabolite biosynthesis, modifying precursor compounds into more potent forms, or by directly synthesising analogous defence ...

Studies on the Hemicellulases Part I

open access: yesJournal of the agricultural chemical society of Japan, 1970

Production and properties of hemicellulases by a Thermomyces lanuginosus strain [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied Microbiology, 2000
Thermophilic fungi producing extremely high beta-xylanase and their associated hemicellulases have attracted considerable attention because of potential industrial applications. Thermomyces lanuginosus strain SSBP isolated from soil, produced beta-xylanase activity of 59 600 nkat ml-1 when cultivated on a medium containing corn cobs as substrate and ...
