Mathematical Analysis of the role of Information on the Dynamics of Typhoid Fever [PDF]
We consider a deterministic mathematical model to study the role of Information on the dynamics of Typhoid Fever. We analyses the model to study its boundedness and compute the threshold value known as basic reproduction number for determination of number of secondary cases and establishment of the the condition for local and global asymptotic ...

Early neurodevelopmental follow‐up results from the NEOLEV2 cohort
Abstract Aim The aim of this study was to evaluate predictors of neurodevelopmental outcome following hypoxic‐ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) and neonatal seizures in the randomized controlled trial cohort from the NEOLEV2 study. Method Seizure burden, randomized levetiracetam versus phenobarbital antiseizure medication, and duration of breastfeeding ...

Get the News Out Loudly and Quickly: Modeling the Influence of the Media on Limiting Infectious Disease Outbreaks [PDF]
During outbreaks of serious infectious diseases many individuals closely follow media reports of the outbreak and take steps, including self-isolation, to protect themselves from infection and possibly death. Self-isolation can take many forms including restricting local and long-distance travel, using face masks, and choosing to receive a vaccine.

Automated segmentation of intracranial hemorrhages from 3D CT [PDF]
Intracranial hemorrhage segmentation challenge (INSTANCE 2022) offers a platform for researchers to compare their solutions to segmentation of hemorrhage stroke regions from 3D CTs. In this work, we describe our solution to INSTANCE 2022. We use a 2D segmentation network, SegResNet from MONAI, operating slice-wise without resampling.

Epidemic Hemorrhagic Fever in Argentina [PDF]
A DISEASE of unknown etiology appeared a few years ago in the northwestern part of the Province of Buenos Aires. The clinical aspects were first described by Arribalzaga (1) and later by Duva (2), who suggested that it may be of leptospiral origin. The disease appeared again in 1958, and in May of that year we went to the city of Junin to study its ...
