Secretion of proalbumin by canavanine-treated Hep-G2 cells.

The two processing sites in the conversion of preproalbumin to albumin are marked by arginine residues. Therefore, to study the mechanisms of albumin processing and secretion, the arginine residues of nascent albumin were replaced with canavanine by the incubation of Hep-G2 cells with this arginine analog.

Phorbol ester inhibits erythropoietin production in human hepatoma cells (Hep G2) [PDF]

Using the human hepatoma cell line Hep G2, we have studied a possible role of protein kinase C (PKC) activity for regulation of erythropoietin (EPO) production. During a 72-h incubation, EPO production by the cells was stimulated sevenfold by exposure to low oxygen tension (1%) and threefold by exposure to cobaltous chloride (100 microM).

ERM Inhibition Confers Ferroptosis Resistance through ROS‐Induced NRF2 Signaling

ERM inhibition disrupts ERM‐actin interactions, elevating ROS and triggering KEAP1 degradation, which stabilizes and activates NRF2. Nuclear NRF2 induces cytoprotective genes, notably HMOX1, enhancing redox buffering and suppressing lipid peroxidation to resist erastin‐induced ferroptosis.

A new cerebrocortical organoid model using isogenic hiPSCs with familial Alzheimer's mutations recapitulates key AD features, including amyloid‐beta and phospho‐Tau aggregation, neuronal hyperexcitability, and synapse loss.
