Host genetic variation guides hepacivirus clearance, chronicity, and liver fibrosis in mice
BACKGROUND AIMS: Human genetic variation is thought to guide the outcome of HCV infection, but model systems within which to dissect these host genetic mechanisms are limited. Norway rat hepacivirus, closely related to HCV, causes chronic liver infection

Evaluation of ribavirin efficacy and tolerance in subjects with chronic hepatitis C virus infection [PDF]
Background. Reports by hepatologists indicated that anti-HCV antibodies might be detected in 71% to 84% of cases of post-transfusion hepatitis and in up to 50% of cases of sporadic non-A non-B hepatitis.

Ecologic Traits Analysis for Identifying Rodent Hosts for Arenavirus and Hepacivirus in the Americas
Over half of emerging human pathogens originate from wildlife, with rodents serving as key zoonotic hosts. This study used ecological trait‐based models to identify rodent traits associated with arenavirus and hepacivirus infections and detect potential host species across the Americas, our models achieve high predictive accuracy (AUC = 0.92–0.96).

ABSTRACT In the wake of the COVID‐19 pandemic, awareness of emerging pathogens has significantly increased, prompting greater investment in research and preparedness. In this context, arboviral diseases are recognized as unmet medical challenges due to their rapid spread. Notably, the geographical range of several flaviviral diseases is expanding: Zika

Treatment outcomes for equine osteoarthritis with mesenchymal stromal cells and hyaluronic acid
Abstract Background Mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) are widely used to treat osteoarthritis (OA). Optimising dose, timing, and safety while comparing efficacy with standard therapies like hyaluronic acid (HA) is essential for their standardisation. Objectives To assess the safety and efficacy of equine umbilical cord‐derived (eCB) MSCs in client‐owned

The Small Cysteine‐Rich Protein of Potato Mop‐Top Virus Exhibits Viroporin Activity
The cysteine‐rich 8K protein of PMTV exhibits a viroporin activity that forms multimers on endomembrane, alters membrane permeability, and conducts potassium and protons. ABSTRACT Potato mop‐top virus (PMTV) is the causal agent of potato tuber spraing disease, which causes significant economic losses to potato production worldwide.
