Correlations between Chondroitin Sulfate Physicochemical Properties and its in-vitro Absorption and Anti-inflammatory Activity [PDF]
Here, we investigated the influence of physicochemical characteristics of chondroitin sulfate (CS) on its in vitro absorption and anti-inflammatory activity. We used eight different synthetic and natural CS samples with a range of molecular weights (7-35 kDa) and sulfation patterns.

Regional distribution of acid mucopolysaccharides in the kidney.
Kidneys from 20 dogs were dissected into cortical and medullary components and analysed for acid mucopolysaccharide content. Heparitin sulfate accounted for approximately 80% of cortical acid mucopolysaccharide, 10% was chondroitin sulfate B, and 10% was

Characterization of a Mucopolysaccharidosis Type I and GalNAc Transferase deficiency double knockout mouse [PDF]
The mucopolysaccharidoses (MPSs) are a group of lysosomal storage diseases (LSDs) which are characterized by the aberrant primary storage of glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) in lysosomes of multiple organ and tissue systems.

Effect of pH, surface charge and counter-ions on the adsorption of sodium dodecyl sulfate to the sapphire/solution interface [PDF]
The role of ionic interactions between sodium dodecyl sulfate, SDS, and sapphire surfaces have been studied using specular neutron reflection to determine the structure and composition of adsorbed surfactant layers. Increasing the pH of the solution from 3 to 9 reduces the adsorption by reversing the charge of the alumina.

Instant determination of the potential biomarker heparan sulfate in human plasma by a mix-and-read fluorescence assay [PDF]
Heparan sulfate (HS) is a linear, polydisperse sulfated polysaccharide belonging to the glycosaminoglycan family. HS proteoglycans are ubiquitously found at the cell surface and extracellular matrix in animal species. HS is involved in the interaction with a wide variety of proteins and the regulation of many biological activities.

THE FATE OF INJECTED MUCOPOLYSACCHARIDES
The general outline of the biosynthesis of the mucopolysaccharides (MPSs) has been fairly well established by isotope studies. On the other hand, the mechanism and extent of removal from the tissues of these substances is still quite obscure.
