e antigen in acute hepatitis B. [PDF]

open access: yesBMJ, 1976
To examine the association between e antigen and hepatitis-B surface antigen (HBs Ag) we studied 90 inpatients with acute viral hepatitis type B. e Antigen was present in 24 of the patients; these patients had detectable levels of HBs Ag for significantly longer than the 66 with no e antigen in their serum.

Metabolically Improved Stem Cell Derived Hepatocyte-Like Cells Support HBV Life Cycle and Are a Promising Tool for HBV Studies and Antiviral Drug Screenings

open access: yesBiomedicines, 2022
More than 300 million people worldwide are diagnosed with a chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection. Nucleos(t)ide viral polymerase inhibitors are available on the market and can efficiently treat patients with chronic HBV. However, life-long treatment

Hepatitis B e Antigen Induces NKG2A+ Natural Killer Cell Dysfunction via Regulatory T Cell-Derived Interleukin 10 in Chronic Hepatitis B Virus Infection

open access: yesFrontiers in Cell and Developmental Biology, 2020
Although persistent hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection is associated with natural killer (NK) cell dysfunction, it remains obscure whether HBV viral antigens are responsible for NK cell dysfunction in patients with chronic hepatitis B (CHB) infection.

Recent advancements in combination subunit vaccine development

open access: yesHuman Vaccines & Immunotherapeutics, 2017
Viral structural proteins share a common nature of homotypic interactions that drive viral capsid formation. This natural process has been mimicked in vitro through recombinant technology to generate various virus-like particles (VLPs) and small subviral

HBcrAg Identifies Patients Failing to Achieve HBeAg Seroconversion Treated with Pegylated Interferon Alfa-2b

open access: yesChinese Medical Journal, 2016
Background: We aimed to evaluate the usefulness of serum hepatitis B virus core-related antigens (HBcrAg) for predicting hepatitis B e antigen (HBeAg) seroconversion in HBeAg-positive chronic hepatitis B patients treated with conventional interferon (IFN)
