Delta hepatitis virus infection in ethiopia
European Journal of Epidemiology, 1988The results of Hepatitis Delta virus (HDV) antibody determinations carried on 566 HBsAg positive serum samples from a population of 5270 Ethiopian military recruits are reported. The prevalence of anti-HDV among apparently healthy HBsAg carriers was 5.8%. The prevalence increases with age within the available range (18-30 years).

Substitution rates in hepatitis delta virus
Journal of Molecular Evolution, 1995Substitution rates were estimated for the coding and noncoding regions of the hepatitis delta virus (HDV). The estimated rates of synonymous substitution in HDV were lower than the rates of substitution at non-synonymous sites and in the noncoding region.

Hepatitis delta virus infection in Bombay
Transactions of the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, 1992From June 1985 to June 1989, sera from 425 cases of acute viral hepatitis were gathered from 2 hospitals in Bombay; 331 sera were positive for hepatitis B surface antigen and immunoglobulin M anti-hepatitis B core antigen, and the donors' disease was diagnosed as hepatitis B.

JAMA: The Journal of the American Medical Association, 1988To the Editor. —In an interesting article, Bensabath et al 1 suggest that delta virus infection is the preponderant cause of Labrea hepatitis. They declare that the clinical picture of the classic form of massive hepatic necrosis is indistinguishable from the fulminant steatosis observed in Labrea hepatitis.
