Characterization of Herpesvirus saimiri and Herpesvirus ateles structural proteins [PDF]

open access: yesVirology, 1983
The structural proteins of Herpesvirus saimiri strains 11 and 11 att and of Herpesvirus ateles strains 73 and 810 were characterized by electrophoresis in SDS-polyacrylamide gels. For H. saimiri 21 virus structural proteins could be identified with molecular weights ranging from 28,000 to 210,000 Da. For H. ateles 810 and H.

A beta-herpesvirus with fluorescent capsids to study transport in living cells. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Fluorescent tagging of viral particles by genetic means enables the study of virus dynamics in living cells. However, the study of beta-herpesvirus entry and morphogenesis by this method is currently limited.

RNA‐Binding Protein RBM25 Targets the mRNA Stability of GTPase Rab22a to Restrict Viral Entry and Infection

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies RNA‐binding protein RBM25 as a broad‐spectrum antiviral factor acting independently of type I interferon. It blocks viral entry by suppressing GTPase Rab22a via the RC3H1‐mediated destabilization of Rab22a mRNA. Viral downregulation of RBM25 enhances GTPase Rab22a expression and viral entry, revealing an unreported post ...

Multiple functions of the herpesvirus UL14 gene product in viral infection

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology
Herpesviruses are a family of double-stranded DNA viruses with a tegument structure and a genome composed of a single sequence and terminal repeat (TR) sequences.

Features and Functions of the Conserved Herpesvirus Tegument Protein UL11 and Its Binding Partners

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2022
The herpesvirus UL11 protein is encoded by the UL11 gene and is a membrane-anchored protein with multiple functions. In the last stage of viral replication, UL11 participates in the secondary envelopment process.

Cyprinid Herpesvirus 3

open access: yesEmerging Infectious Diseases, 2010
The recently designated cyprinid herpesvirus 3 (CyHV-3) is an emerging agent that causes fatal disease in common and koi carp. Since its emergence in the late 1990s, this highly contagious pathogen has caused severe financial losses in common and koi carp culture industries worldwide. In addition to its economic role, recent studies suggest that CyHV-3

Herpesvirus strigis, a new avian herpesvirus [PDF]

open access: yesArchiv fr die gesamte Virusforschung, 1974
A virus (HSIS) originating from dead owls was successfully cultivated in chicken embryo fibroblasts. Its replication was inhibited by IUDR. Tissue cultured virus proved sensitive to ether, chloroform, 0.5 per cent trypsin, and to pH levels of 4.0 or lower. Infectivity was rapidly destroyed at 56° C.

Late Cytomegalovirus Infections After Allogeneic Hematopoietic Cell Transplant

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Hematology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Graft versus host disease (GVHD) prophylaxis with posttransplant cyclophosphamide (ptCY) and cytomegalovirus (CMV) prophylaxis with letermovir have changed the clinical epidemiology of CMV infection. We studied the incidence, risk factors for, and outcomes of CMV infection after Day + 90 of allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplant (alloHCT ...

Transcriptomic analysis of differential gene expression reveals an increase in COX2 levels during in vitro canine herpesvirus infection

open access: yesCiência Rural, 2018
: Canine herpesvirus (CaHV-1) affects canids worldwide, causing death in neonates and immunosuppressed hosts. Acute infection by CaHV-1 can cause reproductive, respiratory, and neurological problems in adult animals.
