Human herpesvirus 6 and human herpesvirus 7 in chronic fatigue syndrome [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Microbiology, 1995
We analyzed lymphocytes of patients with chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) for the presence of human herpesvirus 6 (HHV-6) and HHV-7 DNA. HHV-7 was present in over 80% of CFS patients and healthy controls, while the prevalence of HHV-6 variant A increased significantly in CFS cases (22 versus 4%; P = 0.05).

Glass eels and viruses – a lesson learnt from stocking the eastern German Baltic Sea coast

open access: yesTransboundary and Emerging Diseases, Accepted Article., 2022
Abstract Concerns about Anguillid herpesvirus 1 (AngHV‐1) in European eels, especially due to stocking measures, is increasingly coming into focus and raises questions regarding disease monitoring and prevention. In the past, stocking of AngHV‐1‐positive eels into waters assumed AngHV‐1‐free has led to a rapid increase of infected eels in the wild. For

Human herpesvirus-7 as a cause of exanthematous ilnesses in Belém, Pará, Brazil Herpesvírus humano-7 como causa de doença exantemática em Belém, Pará, Brasil

open access: yesRevista do Instituto de Medicina Tropical de São Paulo, 2004
We screened sera from 370 patients suffering from exanthematous illnesses in Belém, North Brazil, for the presence of human herpesvirus-7 (HHV-7) IgM and IgG antibodies. Samples were obtained from January 1996 to December 2002 and were processed by a HHV-

An experimental evaluation of a loop versus a reference design for two-channel microarrays [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Motivation: Despite theoretical arguments that socalled "loop designs" of two-channel DNA microarray experiments are more efficient, biologists keep on using "reference designs".
