Organohypervalent heterocycles
Chemical Society ReviewsThis review summarizes structural and synthetic aspects of heterocyclic molecules incorporating an atom of a hypervalent main-group element. The higher thermal stability of hypervalent heterocycles, as compared to their acyclic analogs, adds special feature to their chemistry.

Novel heterocyclic spirobenzofurans
Journal of the Chemical Society C: Organic, 1970Novel 1′,3′-dialkyl-1′,2′,3′,4′,5′,6′-hexahydrospiro(benzofuran-2,5′-pyrimidine)-3(2H)-ones and 1′,4′-dialkyl-2′,3′,4′,5′,6′,7′-hexahydrospiro(benzofuran-2,6′-[1,4]diazepine)-3(2H)-ones have been synthesised from benzofuran-3-one by Mannich reactions with primary amines and diamines.

Heterocycles from methylenecyclopropanes
Organic & Biomolecular Chemistry, 2015The construction of heterocycles from MCPs affords more opportunities for the quick synthesis of elaborately substituted products. This review aims to summarize the novel organic reactions of MCPs to produce heterocycles published in recent years, which have provided specific and powerful tools for organic synthesis.

Photooxygenation of Heterocycles
Current Organic Chemistry, 2005The photooxygenation of heterocycles represents a versatile and widely accepted tool for introducing oxygenated functions in a mild, simple and selective way. The review evidences the synthetic potential of the photooxygenation with particular attention to the reaction of Type II involving singlet oxygen in the first electronically excited state ( 1 Δg)

It has been a very active year in the arena of heterocyclic chemistry. Particular highlights include a new catalytic system for the formation of aziridines with easily removable N-protecting groups (Du Bois); two examples of catalytic asymmetric Staudinger β-lactam formation, independently reported by Fu and Lectka; the use of ynamine chemistry to ...

Synthesis of fused heterocycles from heterocyclic enaminones
Tetrahedron, 1999Abstract The reactivity of readily prepared heterocyclic enanminones with some doubly electrophilic reagents is described. Different classes of interesting fused heterocyclic systems are obtained from these enanminones in a single reaction.

An overview of the different heterocyclic NO-releasing compounds is given. Mesoionic heterocycles like sydnone imines are one example. This class is discussed on the synthesis and the mechanism of NO formation from Molsidomine and its first metabolite SIN-1.
