Dual PI3K/AKT and CDK4/6 inhibition reveals selective sensitivity in an SHH medulloblastoma stem cell model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Targeted therapy was evaluated in SHH medulloblastoma using neuroepithelial stem cell (NES) and tumor‐derived NES‐like (tNES) models in 2D monolayers and 3D spheroids. PI3K, AKT, and CDK4/6 inhibitors had minimal effects in NES but markedly reduced viability and growth and induced apoptosis in tNES cells, revealing distinct therapeutic vulnerabilities.

The Effective Number of Degrees of Freedom of the Far-Fields Radiated by Rectangular Current Sheets

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of Antennas and Propagation
The number of degrees of freedom (NDF) of the electromagnetic far-fields generated by current sheets under certain noise level in the environment is evaluated numerically by directly sampling on the constellation of the propagation modes in free space ...

Hippo pathway at the crossroads of stemness and therapeutic resistance in breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dysregulation of the Hippo pathway drives nuclear accumulation of YAP/TAZ, activating stemness‐related transcriptional programs that sustain breast cancer stemness and fuel therapeutic resistance across subtypes, underscoring Hippo signaling as a targetable vulnerability. Figure created and edited with BioRender.com.

Miniaturized Ultrawide Stopband Single-Band Filter and Large Frequency Ratio Dual-Band Filter Based on Inhomogeneous Half-Mode T-Septum Waveguide

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Microwaves
The inhomogeneous half-mode T-septum waveguide (IHMTSG) cavity is analyzed and applied to the design of miniaturized single- and dual-band band-pass filters (BPFs) in this paper.

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Heterogeneous Nonlinear Integrated Photonics

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Quantum Electronics, 2018
Integrated photonics has been pursued on a large variety of materials and platforms over more than half a century. In recent decades, silicon has emerged as the preferred optical and substrate material. However, since many optical functionalities cannot be, inherently or conveniently, implemented on silicon-based devices, heterogeneous integration of ...

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...
