Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

Unified Access to Heterogeneous Resources in a Distributed Library Consortia Environment: Challenges and Opportunities [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Library consortia in today’s digital age are quite different from that of library networks in yester years. The main reason is that the resources that are shared in today’s consortia environment are predominantly in electronic form such as electronic ...

Complexity Analysis in Heterogeneous System

open access: yesComputer and Information Science, 2009
Complexity analysis in heterogeneous system is one of the more complicated topics in the subject mathematics for computing. It involves an unusual concept and some tricky algebra. This paper shows how various algorithms take part in heterogeneous system and how they affect the overall system complexity?

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Rapid Acquisition of High-Pixel Fluorescence Lifetime Images of Living Cells via Image Reconstruction Based on Edge-Preserving Interpolation

open access: yesBiosensors
Fluorescence lifetime imaging (FLIM) has established itself as a pivotal tool for investigating biological processes within living cells. However, the extensive imaging duration necessary to accumulate sufficient photons for accurate fluorescence ...

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Optimal relaying in heterogeneous delay tolerant networks

open access: yes, 2011
In Delay Tolerant Networks (DTNs), there exists only intermittent connectivity between communication sources and destinations. In order to provide successful communication services for these challenged networks, a variety of relaying and routing ...
