Plants possess an innate immune system able to detect pathogens' molecules such as cerato‐platanin (CP), a protein produced by the fungus Ceratocystis platani. This study shows that the application of this protein elicitor to weeds can be exploited as a novel herbicide mode of action.

Nonfouling Coatings from Synthetic Intrinsically Disordered Proteins
The antifouling performance of a triblock protein, B‐M‐E is optimized, by screening intrinsically disordered proteins (IDPs) for its E block. The best candidate, [(GAGAIP)₃‐(GAGEIP)]₄, forms a nonfouling layer on gold comparable to PEG‐based SAMs and resists E. coli attachment for at least seven days.
