Virulence of new strain of Heterorhabditis bacteriophora from Croatia against Lasioptera rubi
Soil samples from 100 cultivated and natural sites were assessed for the presence of entomopathogenic nematodes. Heterorhabditid nematodes were recovered from three soil samples during spring months, with the overall positive sample rate of 3%.

ABSTRACT Entomopathogenic nematodes (EPNs) are key biological control agents in agriculture, but their direct effects on plant metabolism and resistance to herbivory remain underexplored. By combining transcriptomic, metabolomic, and herbivore assays, this study aimed at providing a holistic description of maize root responses to EPNs and to assess ...

Cossid moths (Lepidoptera: Cossidae) as pests of woody plants – A review
Abstract The Cossidae is a worldwide family of macro‐moths popularly known as carpenter moths due to the larval habit of boring in the wood of living plants. This review compiles current knowledge on the characteristics, diversity and bionomy of cossid moths as well as the damage they cause on woody plants.

Photorhabdus africana sp. nov. isolated from Heterorhabditis entomopathogenic nematodes. [PDF]
AbstractOne Gram-negative, rod-shaped bacterial strain, isolated from an undescribed Heterorhabditis entomopathogenic nematode species was characterized to determine its taxonomic position. The 16S rRNA gene sequences indicate that it belongs to the class Gammaproteobacteria, to the family Morganellaceae, to the genus Photorhabdus, and likely ...

Master of Puppets: How Microbiota Drive the Nematoda Ecology and Evolution?
The nematode microbiota can influence life‐history traits, thereby shaping the species' ecology and evolutionary trajectories. ABSTRACT In recent decades, the microbiota has emerged as a key driver of biological functions in metazoans, and nematodes are no exception.
