Risk assessment of replacing synthetic preservatives with natural ingredients. [PDF]
Abstract The present work, developed within the EU‐FORA fellowship programme, assessed the risk assessment of vegetable by‐product extracts as natural alternatives to synthetic preservatives in food formulations. Extracts were obtained from onion peel (Allium cepa L.), zucchini (Cucurbita pepo L.) and kale (Brassica oleracea L. var.

Automated Analysis of Pollutants in Wastewater Using Atmospheric Pressure Gas Chromatography-Tandem Quadrupole Mass Spectrometer With Robotic Autosampler and Solid Phase Micro Extraction. [PDF]
ABSTRACT The analysis of organic pollutants using gas chromatography coupled to mass spectrometer (GC‐MS) with electron impact (EI) ionization and liquid–liquid or solid‐phase extraction (LLE or SPE) often suffer from a limited selectivity and arduous sample preparation.

Persistent Beetroot Colored Urine in a Three-Year-Old Child: A Case Report. [PDF]
Clinically manifest porphyria cutanea tarda (PCT) is rare in children. Of ~1400 cases diagnosed at Porphyria Center Sweden, only five were children, all with pathogenic UROD variants and HFE homozygous. Diagnosis is often delayed; in our case, beetroot‐red urine prompted suspicion despite the absence of cutaneous symptoms.

Environmental hexachlorobenzene (HCB) increases blood pressure (BP) in female rats, causing alterations in arterial structure and function. Here we study the role of Angiotensin II receptor type 1 (AT1) in HCB-induced hypertension through the use of AT1 ...

Contrastive Analysis of the Raman Spectra of Polychlorinated Benzene: Hexachlorobenzene and Benzene
Detection of persistent pollutants such as polychlorinated benzene in environment in trace amounts is challenging, but important. It is more difficult to distinguish homologues and isomers of organic pollutantd when present in trace amounts because of ...

The kinetic reaction of anaerobic microbial chloerobenzenes degradation in contaminated soil
The kinetic reactions of hexachlorobenzene (HCB) and coexisting chlorobenzene congeners in real HCB-contaminated soil and effects of environmental factors on degradation rate, such as solid-liquid ratio, pH and incubation temperatures, were investigated.

A comprehensive review of the process on hexachlorobenzene degradation
This paper describes the chemical, physical property of the pollution source along with its perniciousness. In addition, with the recent treatment or degradation of the hexachlorobenzene (HCB), it talks about the research developments on the HCB.
