When Nature Counts: Corporate Biodiversity Attention and Access to Bank Finance
ABSTRACT This paper investigates whether corporate attention to biodiversity influences firms' access to bank loans, an overlooked question in the emerging biodiversity–finance literature. Using a novel, text‐based measure constructed from 446 biodiversity‐related keywords and applied to Chinese A‐share listed firms from 2000 to 2023, we show that ...

Beyond Carbon: Corporate Environmental Performance Across Multiple Domains
ABSTRACT We examine corporate environmental performance (CEP) as a multidimensional system rather than isolated outcomes. Combining institutional and behavioral perspectives, we analyze four domains—CO2 emissions, waste, energy, and water—using S&P 500 firms that disclosed data on all four domains (2006–2024).

A Methodology to Integrate Closed‐Cycle Heat Pumps into Batch Distillation Columns
Batch distillation often cannot use vapor recompression due to contamination risks in food and pharma. This study proposes a design for integrating closed‐loop heat pumps using natural fluids. Results show significant energy savings, offering a sustainable alternative to traditional setups.

In a CO2 absorption process, it is investigated whether the adjustment of operating parameters facilitates the integration of different closed heat pump cycles considering various refrigerants. The influence of different integration concepts and electricity prices are investigated by means of resulting total annual costs.

Under copper(I) catalysis, pentafluoroethylated alkenes can undergo smooth defluorosilylation to generate novel polyfluorinated products. The reaction exhibits high levels of diastereoselectivities for obtaining multisubstituted allylsilanes with control of the double bond geometry.

ABSTRACT National and supranational institutions are establishing emission trading systems and control schemes in an attempt to manage stakeholders' willingness to engage with regulatory systems and reduce greenhouse gas emissions (GHG). Nonetheless, despite the national and supranational focus on carbon neutrality, little research has been centered ...

Carbon emission assessment of tunnel infrastructures: From construction to operation
This study develops a lifecycle carbon accounting framework for tunnel infrastructures, covering design, construction, operation, maintenance, and dismantling. Applied to a subsea tunnel case, the framework reveals the carbon emission distribution among four typical tunnel types and highlights potential carbon offset methods for low‐carbon tunnel ...

Early action on HFCs mitigates future atmospheric change
As countries take action to mitigate global warming, both by ratifying the UNFCCC Paris Agreement and enacting the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol to manage hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), it is important to consider the relative importance of the ...
