Effects of High‐Fructose Corn Syrup Addition to Broiler Diets on Performance, Carcass Yield, Visceral Weights, Gut pH and Some Blood Parameters

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science
Background This study hypothesizes that using different amounts of high‐fructose corn syrup (HFCS) in broiler diets may improve performance. Objectives This study aimed to determine the effects of HFCS added to broiler diets on performance, cecum pH and ...

A Humanized Anti‐gD Broadly Neutralizing Antibody Confers Complete Post‐Exposure Protection against Pseudorabies Virus

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Pseudorabies virus (PRV), an emerging zoonotic α‐herpesvirus, causes life‐threatening human encephalitis. We identified a broad‐spectrum neutralizing antibody 6F7 targeting PRV gD. It blocks gD‐Nectin‐1 binding and membrane fusion, inhibiting replication across all PRV variants, representing a promising candidate for anti‐PRV therapy.

Differentiation of High-Fructose Corn Syrup Adulterated Kelulut Honey Using Physicochemical, Rheological, and Antibacterial Parameters

open access: yesFoods, 2023
Kelulut (stingless bee) honey (KH) possesses a wide range of benefits for human consumption and can exhibit medical effects. Due to its high value, this premium honey is often adulterated with different types of cheaper sugars, causing low nutrients and ...

Dislocation‐Mediated Lattice Distortion and Griffiths Phase Behavior in Melt‐Spun Ni2MnSb Ribbons

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This figure illustrates how melt‐spinning introduces dislocations into Ni2MnSb Heusler alloys. TEM images reveal local lattice distortions and associated strain fields surrounding dislocations at a representative wheel speed. As wheel speed increases, these distortions promote the formation of ferromagnetic clusters within a paramagnetic matrix ...

Heat Transfer Fluids as Co‐Diluents in Localized High‐Concentration Electrolytes for High‐Rate Lithium Metal Batteries With Enhanced Safety

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, EarlyView.
Two fluorinated ethers, commonly used as heat‐transfer fluids, are explored as co‐diluents in localized high‐concentration electrolytes (LHCEs) for lithium metal‐based batteries. The best‐performing ternary diluent blend boosts ion mobility and cuts overvoltages, thereby improving Coulombic efficiency and cycle life at ≥1 mA cm−2 in zero‐excess pouch ...

Hepatoprotective and Hypolipidaemic Effects of Bacopa Monnieri in High-fructose Corn Syrup-induced Non Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease in Male Wistar Rats: An Experimental Study [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Clinical and Diagnostic Research
Introduction: Non Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD) is a global health concern strongly linked to excessive dietary fructose intake. High-Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS) contributes significantly to metabolic dysregulation, hepatic steatosis and ...

A Systemic Model for Understanding Business Interactions With Biodiversity and Ecosystems

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Biodiversity loss and ecosystem degradation represent critical threats to human well‐being and economic resilience, challenging businesses to understand and manage their interdependence with natural systems. This study develops a systemic framework—the BioModel—that elucidates the reciprocal relationship between businesses, biodiversity, and ...

THE IMPACT OF INFLATION EXPECTATIONS ON HOUSEHOLD WELL-BEING: AN EMPIRICAL ANALYSIS

open access: yesTrendy v podnikání
For decades, understanding financial and subjective well-being has been central to research, given its relevance to individual quality of life and policy decisions (Helliwell et al., 2019; Brüggen et al., 2017).

Board Networks and Corporate Carbon Emissions: A Cross‐Country Analysis of Causal Effects

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study examines whether board networks influence corporate carbon emissions and the strategic pathways through which firms decarbonize. Using a sample of 1952 firms across 48 countries from 2003 to 2020, we employ dynamic stacked regressions that exploit exogenous carbon‐regulation shocks affecting firms connected through shared third ...

Trends in atmospheric HFC-23 (CHF3) and HFC-134a abundances

open access: yesJournal of Quantitative Spectroscopy and Radiative Transfer, 2019
Abstract The Montreal Protocol banned the production of major ozone depleting substances such as chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) to protect the Earth’s ozone layer. The resulting increased production and emissions of CFC-replacement hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) has caused a dramatic increase in their atmospheric abundances.
