Fully moderated t-statistic in linear modeling of mixed effects for differential expression analysis
Background Gene expression profiling experiments with few replicates lead to great variability in the estimates of gene variances. Toward this end, several moderated t-test methods have been developed to reduce this variability and to increase power for ...

Hierarchical Bayes models for cDNA microarray gene expression [PDF]
cDNA microarrays are used in many contexts to compare mRNA levels between samples of cells. Microarray experiments typically give us expression measurements on 1000-20 000 genes, but with few replicates for each gene. Traditional methods using means and standard deviations to detect differential expression are not satisfactory in this context.

A nano‐confined radical anion acts as a photothermal immunogenic amplifier. Kinetically stabilized nanoparticles couple high near‐infrared‐II (NIR‐II) photothermal efficacy with glutathione (GSH) depletion to boost reactive oxygen species (ROS) and immunogenic cell death (ICD).

Empirical Bayes and Hierarchical Bayes Estimation of Skew Normal Populations
We develop empirical and hierarchical Bayesian methodologies for the skew normal populations through the EM algorithm and the Gibbs sampler. A general concept of skewness to the normal distribution is considered throughout. Motivations are given for considering the skew normal population in applications, and an example is presented to demonstrate why ...

A supramolecular chirality evolution strategy in chiral low‐bandgap fused‐ring conjugated molecules enables high‐performance near‐infrared (NIR) circularly polarized light photodetection. Halogen substitution and thermal annealing induce chiral amplification and hierarchical ordering. Integrated into Schottky barrier vertical transistors, the optimized

Trypsinogen‐loaded nanoparticles reprogram TAMs via NF‐κB/NLRP3, driving M2→M1 conversion and potent phagocytosis to unleash antitumor immunity. ABSTRACT Although reprogramming tumor‐associated macrophages (TAMs) represents a promising therapeutic strategy, approaches that are both precise and safe remain scarce.

Autonomous laboratories can now synthesize materials faster than experts can interpret the resulting diffraction data. A probabilistic framework combines refinement‐fit metrics with large language model‐derived chemical reasoning to rank competing phase interpretations and flag those unsuitable for autonomous use.
