Detect overlapping and hierarchical community structure in networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Clustering and community structure is crucial for many network systems and the related dynamic processes. It has been shown that communities are usually overlapping and hierarchical. However, previous methods investigate these two properties of community

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Recovery Strategy of Distribution Network Based on Power Supply Capability Assessment of Local Area Configured with Energy Gateway

open access: yesEnergies
The growing integration of DG enhances distribution network resilience, but existing centralized fault recovery strategies face critical limitations: excessive computational burdens on DCs and the insufficient utilization of local control capabilities ...

Spectral problem of block-rectangular hierarchical matrices

open access: yes, 2010
The spectral problem for matrices with a block-hierarchical structure is often considered in context of the theory of complex systems. In the present article, a new class of matrices with a block-rectangular non-symmetric hierarchical structure is ...

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Order reduction of hierarchical interconnected dynamical systems [PDF]

open access: yesAdvances in Radio Science, 2018
The simulation of large scale nonlinear dynamical interconnected systems, as they arise in all modern engineering disciplines, is a usual task. Due to the high complexity of the considered systems, the principle of thinking in hierarchical structures ...
