Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Comprehensive assessment of high-speed passenger trains circulation on the existing railway infrastructure in the Siberian Federal District

open access: yesВестник Научно-исследовательского института железнодорожного транспорта
Introduction. Reducing passenger journey duration at the current stage of transport development is a prerequisite for high-quality passenger service giving railways higher competitive advantage. In order to avoid significant investments, Russian Railways

Investigations for broadband internet within high-speed trains [PDF]

open access: yesAdvances in Radio Science, 2005
Broadband IP-based multimedia services are rapidly growing and there is the trend to use these services everywhere. Due to the fact that passengers in long distance high speed trains have a very comfortable environment to use their own terminal equipment,

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Study of Aerodynamic Pressure of High-Speed Cross Trains In Tunnel [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Railway Research
It is clear that the estimation and investigation of the aerodynamic peak pressure due to the passage of two high-speed cross trains intersecting in the tunnel is important because of its effects on passenger safety and tunnel structure.

Prospects of China's High-speed Railroad considering the Debate on "Maglev" and "On-the-Trail" Contributions

open access: yesPromet (Zagreb), 2012
Considering the fierce debate on whether "maglev" or"on-the-trail" system should be applied to China's first high-speed railroad, this paper makes prospects about China's high--speed railroads.

From mice to humans—divergent strategies for intestinal homeostasis and regeneration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Recent advances such as organoid genome editing, xenotransplantation, imaging, and whole‐genome sequencing have enabled direct studies of human intestinal stem cells (ISCs). These studies reveal species‐specific features, including slower ISC proliferation, distinct injury responses, slower somatic mutation accumulation in humans, and an inverse ...

Design and analysis strategies for robust microbiome ageing research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The gut microbiome changes with age and associates with age‐related morbidity and mortality, establishing it as a potential biomarker and intervention target for ageing. Realising this potential requires methodological rigour, yet distinguishing biological signals from methodological artefacts remains challenging across cohorts. This review provides an

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Statistical delay distribution analysis on high-speed railway trains

open access: yesJournal of Modern Transportation, 2019
The focus of this study is to explore the statistical distribution models of high-speed railway (HSR) train delays. Based on actual HSR operational data, the delay causes and their classification, delay frequency, number of affected trains, and space ...
