Cathodic Cage Plasma Deposition of Nanostructured Cu–Fe–Se Coatings on Poly(methyl Methacrylate)
Nanostructured Cu–Fe–Se coatings are deposited on PMMA by a modified cathodic cage plasma process, enabling low‐temperature deposition on polymer substrates. A transition from discontinuous to compact morphology is observed with temperature, with optimal properties at 200°C, where improved CuFeSe2‐type bonding, lowest sheet resistance, and favorable ...

Sessile water droplets on insulating surfaces subject to high AC stress effect of contact angle [PDF]
Surface pollution of outdoor high-voltage insulators is an important cause of flashover. We have undertaken an experimental study of electrical breakdown at the edges of a sessile water droplet on a planar, polymeric, insulating surface when subject to ...

A Field Effect Transitor based on the Mott Transition in a Molecular Layer
Here we propose and analyze the behavior of a FET--like switching device, the Mott transition field effect transistor, operating on a novel principle, the Mott metal--insulator transition.

Analyzing Electronic Excitations and Exciton Binding Energies in Y6 Films
The Y6 molecule is used for increasing the efficiency of organic solar cells. The exciton binding energy is calculated for ensembles of Y6 molecules that are representative of the typically used films. The calculations show that the excitons typically spread out over many molecules.

Measurements of the Secondary Electron Emission of Some Insulators
Charging up the surface of an insulator after beam impact can lead either to reverse sign of field between the surface and collector of electrons for case of thick sample or appearance of very high internal field for thin films.

The layer‐by‐layer (LbL) assembly of coordination solids, enabled by the surface‐mounted metal‐organic framework (SURMOF) platform, is on the cusp of generating the organic counterpart of the epitaxy of inorganics. The programmable and sequential SURMOF protocol, optimized by machine learning (ML), is suited for accessing high‐quality thin films of ...
