Mobility control ability and stability investigation of nitrogen foam under high temperature and high salinity condition

open access: yesJournal of Petroleum Exploration and Production Technology, 2017
The mobility disparity between oil and water accounted for the poor water swept efficiency. Previous research has testified that nitrogen foam can increase sweep area and control water and gas mobility.

Modelling stem cell differentiation related processes—A practical overview for biologists

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Stem cell differentiation is complex and difficult to control experimentally. This review introduces suitable computational modelling approaches that can support stem cell research, from mechanistic ODE and abstract models to multiscale and deep learning methods.

Teaching Reading Skills to Non-English Native Speaker Students: The Numbered Head Together (NHT) Technique and Students’ Reading Ability in Bengkulu

open access: yesInternational Journal of Language Teaching and Education, 2018
The purpose of this quantitative study with a quasi-experimental approach was to examine the significant increase and difference of students’ achievement in reading after being taught through the Numbered Head Together (NHT) technique with recount texts ...

ABL kinase‐dependent phosphorylation of SH proteins promotes their direct interaction with CRK family SH2 domains

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
CT10 regulator of kinase (CRK) and CRK‐Like (CRKL) are signaling adaptors driving cell adhesion, motility, differentiation, and proliferation. SH2‐domain containing (SH) proteins are enriched in YXXP motifs which when phosphorylated create preferred binding sites for CRK family SH2 domains.

Reconstructing enzyme evolution by protein engineering

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Natural enzyme evolution can be retraced by protein engineering methods such as directed evolution, rational design, and ancestral sequence reconstruction. These approaches reveal how enzymes emerged from ligand‐binding scaffolds, developed varying substrate preferences, formed oligomeric complexes, adapted to environmental changes, and evolved novel ...

Developmental changes in high cognitive ability children: The role of nature and nurture

open access: yes
General cognitive ability (GCA) shows increased stability as individuals age, but stability values are relatively low in early childhood. Remarkable changes in GCA scores are therefore expected during the first developmental stages.

Investigating transcription factor dynamics in health and disease using FRAP

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
FRAP analysis of GFP‐tagged transcription factors reveals how molecular mobility and target engagement change in response to drug treatment. By combining live‐cell imaging, quantitative model fitting, and statistical analysis, this approach uncovers transcription factor dynamics linked to disease mechanisms, providing a powerful framework for ...
