An extended Computed Tomography (CT) technique with a priori information based on Phillips-Tikhonov regularization has been developed to handle a high-contrast radiation distribution, which can result in large reconstruction errors in the region where radiation intensity is low, with few line of sight (LOS) data.

A novel WFS technique for high-contrast imaging: Phase Sorting Interferometry (PSI)
SPIE Proceedings, 2008High-contrast adaptive optics (AO) observations near stars have to contend with the telescope's diffraction halo, a rapidly-changing cloud of residual atmospheric speckles, and a host of faint but persistent quasi-static speckles caused by various imperfections and aberrations.

The first consideration in planning radiotherapeutic techniques has always been to raise the tumour to a cancericidal dose and spare the normal tissue. The next consideration is to do this accurately, and easily; that is to say with as little discomfort as possible for the patient and in a manner that is not beyond the scope and endurance of the ...

Increasing the nonlinear response of ultrasound contrast agents (UCAs) in response to two consecutive pulses in amplitude modulation (AM) techniques can significantly increase the contrast to tissue ratio (CTR). It has been recently shown that one way to increase the nonlinearity is to take advantage of the buckling behavior of lipid shell bubbles ...

Backscattered laser beam contributions from biological fluids doped with optically active molecules were measured utilizing single-detection autobalanced polarimetric detection principles. The outcome of this study indicates that both the Detective Quantum Efficiency (DQE) and the Degree of Linear polarization (DOLP) of backscattered optical signals ...

Acoustic angiography: a new high frequency contrast ultrasound technique for biomedical imaging
SPIE Proceedings, 2016Acoustic Angiography is a new approach to high-resolution contrast enhanced ultrasound imaging enabled by ultra-broadband transducer designs. The high frequency imaging technique provides signal separation from tissue which does not produce significant harmonics in the same frequency range, as well as high resolution.

48.4: Development of HighâContrast CRT Based on Nano Pigment Screen Technique
SID Symposium Digest of Technical Papers, 2005Abstract We have developed the NPSCN (Nano Pigment Screen) technique, a new style phosphor screen and successfully applied it to the CRT TVs. The technique significantly improved contrast, color gamut and body color in comparison to the previous CRTs without any additional process or investment cost.
